It is possible that the clutch will not respond when you press the clutch head halfway through the stroke, and then the clutch will be pressed to the bottom of the stroke. Adjust the clutch clearance. It will be heavier if the clearance becomes smaller.

First of all, the three-piece clutch set will heat up seriously and the clutch plate will wear more severely if it is driven in semi-clutch for a long time. A clutch that was originally replaced after 200,000 kilometers may need to be replaced in less than 10,000 kilometers.

The release bearing is always in working condition. It will make abnormal noises later. If the high temperature grease dries up, it may get stuck, making it difficult or even impossible to shift gears. I have rescued a car that could not shift gears because the release bearing collapsed.

Because 90% of the resistance when stepping on the clutch comes from the pressure plate diaphragm spring. The part on the far right of the picture above is the pressure plate, and the steel sheets are the diaphragm spring. Its elastic force is very large. When stepping on the clutch, the outer surface of the release bearing is fully and evenly attached to the diaphragm spring and pressed down with force at the same time. If the pressure is uneven, it will cause the spring to be subjected to inconsistent force. The tail of the spring is connected, and it is difficult to separate it if the force is not evenly applied. The resistance increases.

Will the semi-clutch state cause the clutch to become hard?

As long as it is used normally, there must be other reasons for the clutch to become hard. It will be caused by reasons such as the clutch oil being too dirty, the return spring of the clutch master cylinder being broken and stuck, the clutch line being stuck, the clutch fork shaft and the clutch housing being rusted, etc.

If it is always used in a semi-clutch state (you are aware of this situation and can feel it), the related components will be severely worn, such as: clutch friction plate, clutch pressure plate or release bearing failure. These parts are consumables. Once severely worn, the clutch pedal will be too heavy or hard to press.
