The following is the information about planting jasmine compiled by the editor, come and have a look!

Should I repot the newly bought jasmine?

Do not repot or fertilize. The newly bought jasmine has not yet adapted to the new environment, so its growth ability is relatively fragile. If you repot or fertilize immediately, it will damage the health of the root system and eventually cause the plant to wither. Therefore, we need to wait until the plant enters normal growth before repotting or fertilizing.

How to propagate jasmine

There are usually two ways to propagate jasmine: cuttings and layering.

Cuttings: It can be done from April to October every year, but the fastest rooting is in summer, so try to choose the time of cuttings in summer. Method: Cut mature one-year-old branches, 8 to 10 cm long, remove the lower leaves, and insert them into the sand bed. It will take root in about two months.

Layering: Select longer branches and make a slight cut at the lower part of the node 15 cm away from the top of the branch. Bury the branches in a pot with half sand and half soil. Keep the soil moist. The branches will take root in 2 to 3 weeks. After two months, cut them off from the mother plant and plant them in a separate pot.

What are the good ways to prevent and control diseases and pests of jasmine?

Common diseases of jasmine include leaf blight, branch blight and white rot. These three diseases are very common. The prevention and control method is to spray 600 times of 70% mancozeb wettable powder.

Insect pests include leaf rollers, red spiders and scale insects. They can be sprayed with 1000 times diluted 50% carbofuran emulsifiable concentrate, which is very effective.
