What are the characteristics of cervical spondylosis? Can cervical spondylosis be cured?

Many people feel neck pain after using computers or looking down at their phones for a long time. If they don't pay attention to adjusting, it will easily turn into cervical spondylosis. Therefore, cervical spondylosis is also an occupational disease for many office workers, and it is getting younger. There is a difference between cervical spondylosis and general neck pain, so what are the symptoms?

What are the characteristics of cervical spondylosis?

1. Neck pain.

This is the most common and first symptom of cervical spondylosis. The main symptoms are pain and stiffness behind the neck. It often gets worse in the morning, after sitting for a long time, or after being exposed to cold. It also affects the shoulders and head. Clinically, there are diseases such as neck-shoulder syndrome and cervicogenic headache.

2 Limited neck movement.

The cervical spine is restricted due to pain and is afraid to move.

3Numbness and pain in the upper limbs.

The herniated disc in the neck compresses the cervical nerve roots, causing sensory and motor disorders in the areas controlled by the nerve roots. For example, when the C6 nerve root is compressed, the thumb pain sensation is reduced, when the C5 nerve root is affected, the shoulder and forearm feel numb, and when the C7 nerve is affected, the little finger pain sensation is reduced.

4. Headache and dizziness.

The vertebral artery that supplies blood to the neck runs through the intervertebral space. When it is compressed, dizziness, headache, tinnitus, and blurred vision will occur!

Can cervical spondylosis be cured?

Cervical spondylosis can only be relieved, not cured.

The main symptoms of cervical spondylosis are pain and swelling in the neck and shoulders, and radiating pain and numbness in the upper limbs and hands. This is mainly caused by the protrusion compressing the adjacent nerve roots, spinal cord, vertebral artery, etc.

There are many types of cervical spondylosis, including cervical type cervical spondylosis, nerve root type cervical spondylosis, vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis, spinal cord type cervical spondylosis, sympathetic nerve type cervical spondylosis, and mixed type cervical spondylosis. Different cervical spondylosis treatment methods are different, and the degree of recovery is also different.

The first key to prevent the recurrence of cervical spondylosis is to avoid the cause. Most patients are caused by bowing their heads for a long time, especially white-collar workers and students. Bowing your head for a long time will cause changes in the curvature of the cervical spine and herniated discs, so you need to avoid this situation. Get up and move for a few minutes after working for half an hour. Don't play with your phone after get off work. You can play badminton, exercise your neck muscles, and do resistance training in all directions.

You can also use acupuncture and massage, and Chinese medicine fumigation and washing. However, the popular suspension treatment is much better than the traditional treatment. However, no matter which treatment is used, cervical spondylosis cannot be cured, but only relieved. Therefore, prevention is the most important thing. The purpose of preventing recurrence or prolonging the recurrence time after relief is achieved.
