Can I push the engine when the automatic transmission is out of power? How can I start the automatic transmission when it is out of power? Is there any way?

We often see some drivers pushing their cars forward, and then continue driving after the car starts successfully. Generally, this method can be used to start a manual car when the battery is dead. So can the same method be used to start an automatic car when the battery is dead?

Can I start the automatic transmission when it is out of power?

No, a manual transmission car can be pushed to start the engine, but the operation process is complicated. Due to the automatic transmission mechanism, the gear cannot be moved without ignition. To move the car, you have to shift it to N gear. At this time, forcibly shifting it to N gear and then moving the car will cause damage to the gearbox.

Therefore, this method of pushing the car to start the engine cannot be used.

How to start the automatic transmission when there is no power?

1. Use a mobile power source (car applications start the mobile power source)

This mobile power bank is not the one we use to charge our mobile phones. This type of mobile power bank has a high current output of 12V. Among the accompanying accessories, there are positive and negative battery clamps. Red represents the positive pole and black represents the negative pole. Clip them on the corresponding battery electrodes respectively. Be sure not to clip them upside down. Turn on the mobile power bank switch, enter the car's cab and ignite the engine. OK, done.

2. Connecting wires between cars

Ignite the engine. First, ignite the other car and start the engine. Then use two red and black wire clips to connect the side of the engine first, and then the side of the engine that is not started. Note that you should connect the red electrode wire first, and then the black electrode wire. Don't make a mistake in the order of the two connections. Then, ignite the engine and you are done.

3. External power

Use the charging equipment to charge the dead battery, and charge it for half an hour before igniting the engine. This method takes a long time and must be done with a car battery charger.

Why can a manual transmission car be started by push?

The principle behind pushing a manual car is very simple. Pushing a car to start is actually the same as starting a tractor with a crank:

Shift the manual transmission into 2nd gear and press the clutch pedal to maintain absolute separation. This is a prerequisite for pushing the vehicle; then push the vehicle quickly to maintain a certain speed, which is a guarantee for the engine to generate kinetic energy; when the speed is faster, slowly lift the clutch to find the engagement point. At the engagement point, the operation of the gearbox is used. The static friction plate and the flywheel are combined to drive the flywheel to rotate. The flywheel is connected to the engine crankshaft with a belt, and the crankshaft drives the connecting rod, the top of the connecting rod is the piston, and the cylinder combustion chamber is around the piston.

To put it simply, the flywheel rotates by the reverse force, and the rotation of the flywheel drives the crankshaft, which in turn drives the piston. As long as there is some power in the battery to ensure the normal operation of the oil pump and the oil pressure, once the crankshaft rotates, it will trigger the sensor to generate a signal to be transmitted to the ECU. After the piston reaches the B stop point of the compression stroke, the fuel injector sprays fuel and the spark plug ignites, and the vehicle can start normally. After starting, the vehicle uses electricity to power the generator and charge the battery at the same time.
