When can a baby be taken outside?

We all know that babies are weak and have low immunity soon after birth, so they need to be well cared for and nursed. Generally, they are not taken out to prevent them from getting cold or feeling unwell. After a while, the baby can be taken out. So how long does it take for a newborn to go out? Let's take a closer look!

How soon can a newborn baby go out?

Determine the time to go out according to your baby's physical condition:

The baby is in good health and can go out within 3 to 7 days after birth

After the baby is born, they will have a physical examination, which is also called a newborn assessment. The higher the score, the healthier the baby is, and the time to go out can be earlier. Some babies can go out 3 days after birth, but you need to pay attention to the time, generally no more than 15 minutes is appropriate.

The baby is weak, it is recommended to go out after 20 days

Some newborns are premature babies, so these babies should go out later, and the time of going out should also be strictly controlled. It is summer now, and the sun is strong. When taking them out, pay attention to shielding them, so that the baby can have a more comfortable experience.

In addition, when taking a newborn out, you should also pay attention to the weather and seasonal changes. For example, when there is a lot of pollen in spring, there may be flying catkins. When there is heavy haze in autumn, you should not take the baby out, and so on.

In short, when the newborn is in good health and the weather is good, you can arrange to take the baby out earlier without waiting until the full month or 100 days. If both conditions are not met, then it will have to be delayed.

How to care for newborns

1. Environment

①: The temperature is suitable, the indoor temperature is best around 26℃.

② Do not allow relatives and friends to visit, firstly because the baby sleeps most of the time and they will disturb the baby's sleep. Secondly, people who come back from outside have more bacteria.

③Don't be too quiet. If it's too quiet, the baby will be scared because the baby is noisy in the womb. There are sounds like the mother's heartbeat, blood flow, etc. It's fine for family members to talk normally.

④: No secondhand smoke, as it can cause great harm to babies.

2. Diet

When you breastfeed your baby, the first two days are colostrum, which is a small amount. But it is enough for the baby. You have to believe that under normal circumstances, the mother has enough breast milk for the baby. This is the law of nature. All animal mothers have the ability to give their babies enough milk.

There is no need to add water. The stomach of a newborn baby is very small. If you add water, her stomach will not be able to hold milk. It is easy to cause malnutrition. In severe cases, it will disrupt the balance of electrolytes in the baby's body.

Three: Excretion

1: In the first two days, the baby's stool is dark green. This is meconium. After the third day, the color of the stool will gradually turn golden yellow. This is the stool of breastfeeding. It is a bit sour and sometimes has some white milk curds.

2: Urinating. In the first 24 hours after birth, the baby will urinate once or twice. Then, as the baby's stomach grows and the milk intake increases, the amount of milk gradually increases. After three days, at least six diaper bags should be changed a day. This means that the baby is full every time.

Four: Dressing

Newborn babies have a weak ability to regulate body temperature, especially their hands and feet, which are nerve endings, and are usually cooler. Parents need to judge whether the baby is dressed warmly. Touch the back of the baby's neck. If it feels dry and warm, it is just right. If it is a little damp and sticky, it is too much. If it is cool, it is too little.

Mothers should add clothes to their babies according to their body temperature to prevent them from catching a cold.

5. Body care

1: Take a bath. Normally, take a bath once a day. In winter, take a bath once every two days. Pay attention to privacy when taking a bath.

①For baby boys, every wrinkle should be opened and cleaned.

② For baby girls, open the labia majora and minora and rinse with water, but do not rinse directly with the tap. It is normal to have some white secretions inside, and you do not need to wash it every time. It will maintain the balance of its own flora. When applying the stool, apply from front to back.

2: Umbilical cord care. Normally, the nurses in the hospital will help you take care of it. If the umbilical cord has not fallen off after you go home, just be careful not to touch it with water. You can buy an umbilical cord sticker and stick it on directly when you take a bath.

What should newborns pay attention to?

1. Don’t wear too much

Mothers, especially the elderly, are always worried that their babies will be cold, so they dress them in layers and even put on a few more layers outside. In fact, it is enough for babies to wear the same amount of clothes as adults. You should often touch the baby's hands and back to add or remove clothes.

2. No candle wrap

Slightly wrapping the baby can give him the same sense of security as in the mother's belly, but do not wrap the baby's body, hands and feet tightly. On the one hand, this is not conducive to the baby's body circulation, and on the other hand, the baby will feel uncomfortable. If it is tied too tightly, it will affect the bone development of the legs.

3. Baby’s poop

The baby's poop is dark green after birth, which is normal. After the meconium is completely discharged, the baby will have yellow, soft poop.

It is normal for babies to have unformed stools during the confinement period. Do not treat it as diarrhea and treat it accordingly.

4. Neonatal jaundice

Baby's jaundice can be divided into physiological and pathological types. Generally, the physiological type will disappear on its own soon by getting more sun exposure and drinking more water, so it does not require excessive treatment. Only the pathological type requires treatment.

5. Disinfect your belly button frequently

Before the remaining end of the belly button falls off, you must take good care of it and disinfect it with iodine 1-2 times a day. Also, be careful not to get it wet when bathing.
