What are the differences between different brands of formula milk? How to replace different brands of formula milk

We all know that soon after the baby is born, mothers generally breastfeed. Some mothers do not have enough milk, so they feed their babies milk powder, which is what we call formula milk. There are many brands of formula milk, and many mothers will change different brands of formula milk for their babies. So what are the differences between different brands of formula milk? Let's take a closer look!

The main differences between different brands of formula milk

Sweetness Difference

Some formula milks are sweeter and babies like them more, while some formula milks are less sweet and babies don't like them. In fact, for babies, sweetness is relative. If the original formula milk is sweet, and you change to a less sweet formula milk, your baby may not like it. If your baby eats formula milk with this sweetness from the beginning, he or she may eat it well.

Generally speaking, newborns prefer sweeter milk, so if you switch from low-sweetness milk to high-sweetness milk, babies will prefer it, but not vice versa.

Differences in recipes

Different brands of formula milk, under the premise of complying with national standards and navigation marks, have slightly different formulas and may have different nutritional composition ratios. Some may have added certain ingredients that are allowed to be added, such as probiotics or whey protein, etc. Some may have slightly higher iron content, some may have slightly higher zinc content, some may have slightly higher fat content, some may have slightly higher protein content, and some may have higher fat content. The content varies.

If the baby has poor tolerance to iron, it is better to feed him formula milk with a slightly higher iron content, but he may experience abdominal pain, diarrhea, and crying; newborns with poor digestive ability may experience poor digestion when eating formula milk with a high fat content; babies with poor sugar utilization ability may experience diarrhea when eating formula milk with a high sugar content.

How to switch between different brands of formula

The specific method is to replace one spoonful of the original formula milk with one spoonful of the new formula milk. For example, if the baby used to drink 7 spoonfuls of formula milk at a time, this time put 6 spoonfuls of the original formula milk and 1 spoonful of the new formula milk. If the baby drinks milk 8 times a day, replace it 8 times. On the second day, replace 2 spoonfuls each time, on the third day, replace 3 spoonfuls each time, and so on, and you can replace it slowly.

When changing milk, observe the baby's eating habits and stool characteristics. If the baby no longer likes to drink milk and the stool characteristics change, such as becoming green and watery or having watery stool separation, stop changing milk temporarily.

If a mother wants to change her milk formula, she must have a good reason; the new brand must not have the shortcomings of the previous brand. It should be noted that when changing to a new milk formula, you should follow the principle of gradual progress. Don't give your baby a new milk formula all at once, but gradually replace the old formula.

How to prepare formula milk

There are some things to pay attention to when choosing a baby bottle: choose one with good transparency and few patterns. Pay attention to the size of the nipple opening. Sterilize the baby bottle and nipple at high temperature first.

Secondly, the water you choose is very important. Do not use purified water or mineral water. You must use warm boiled water at about 40° to mix the milk powder.

Also, when making milk powder, be sure not to touch the bottle mouth with your hands. When making milk powder, be sure to pour an appropriate amount of warm boiled water first, and then take out an appropriate amount of milk powder and put it into the bottle.

The milk powder spoon must be scraped flat. Otherwise, the mixing ratio will be wrong. Gently shake the bottle to dissolve the milk powder completely. Finally, be sure to drop a few drops on the inside of the hand bowl. It is not hot and the temperature is just right. You can give it to your baby.
