Ingredients: 20 kg fresh hawthorn, 10 kg sugar (actual consumption is 6-7 kg sugar), several bamboo sticks

Preparation method:

1. Remove the hawthorn stalks, dig out the core, and wash. Rinse with cold water and dry. Divide the hawthorns into 5 to 7 grades according to their size and place them in basins.

2. Split the bamboo into sticks 18 to 20 cm long and 3 to 4 mm thick.

3. Thread the hawthorns onto bamboo sticks from small to large, with 5 to 7 hawthorns on each stick, weighing about 50 grams.

Put sugar into the pot, add 3 kg of water, and cook over high heat for 20 minutes, stirring while cooking; observe the syrup until it foams and bubbles, and feel a pulling force when stirring with chopsticks, then reduce the heat to 1/2, and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
