Is Moss easy to keep alive? How to keep Moss alive so that the tank will explode?

Moss is a common aquatic plant in life, especially for some fish breeders, it has become a must-have in their bathtubs. However, for some novices, raising these aquatic plants has become a big problem. So is moss easy to raise? How to raise moss to make the tank explode? Let's take a look.

Is Moss easy to feed?

Moss is an upright aquatic plant that can grow on the surface of driftwood or rocks, or on driftwood and moist sand. Most mosses are easy to grow. If you can grow other aquatic plants well, you can grow mosses well. If you want to grow them well, go for the triangular moss. It can survive with a little light.

How to raise Moss to make the tank explode

Afraid of high temperature: If you want to make moss bloom, we must first control a suitable temperature. Moss does not like high temperatures. When the water temperature exceeds 26 degrees Celsius, the growth rate will slow down, and it may even turn yellow. Therefore, when raising moss, it is best to control the water temperature at around 20-24 degrees Celsius.

Love new water: Moss is a kind of aquatic plant that likes new water very much. If the water in the fish tank is not changed for a long time, the growth rate of moss will slow down. The stimulation of new water can increase the growth rate of moss aquatic plants, so if you want moss to explode in the tank, you need to change the water frequently.

Afraid of big fish: Although moss is a water plant, it is not suitable to be kept with large ornamental fish. Moss is relatively tender, and if kept with large omnivorous ornamental fish, it will only become their food. Therefore, moss is suitable to be kept with small tropical ornamental fish or shrimp.

How to keep moss in fish tank landscaping

1. The most suitable water temperature is 22-26℃. The water temperature should be kept constant. Too high or too low temperature will inhibit the growth of Moss. If the water temperature exceeds 30℃, the leaves will turn yellow and slowly die.

2. Moss is dormant when it is first put into the tank. It should not be exposed to strong light for the first three days. The light can be turned on gradually every day, 2 hours on the first day, 4 hours on the second day, 6 hours on the third day, and 8 hours every day thereafter. Moss likes medium to weak light.

3. Pay attention to prevent black hair algae, use medicine or put appropriate amount of grass shrimp to prevent it in advance.

4. Provide 8 hours of light per day, add liquid fertilizer regularly, and change 1/4 of the water every week (the ratio can be adjusted appropriately according to the size of the tank).

How to lay moss on the bottom of the tank

1. Tie it to the driftwood and lay it

Choose some driftwood according to the size of the fish tank and your own landscaping needs, then prepare the moss seedlings, and then use the fishing line to wrap the moss around the driftwood. When wrapping, pay attention to using appropriate winding force. The size of the force cannot be described, and only the enthusiasts can experience it themselves. Anyway, it is necessary to neither strangle the moss nor make it too loose, otherwise it will easily fall off. After tying the moss to the driftwood, put it in the bottom of the tank and add water.

2. Tie it to the artificial stone and lay it

In addition to laying moss on driftwood, you can also lay moss on fake rocks or rockery. The laying method is similar to driftwood, and the moss is also tied to the fake rock with fishing line. However, due to the irregular shape of the fake rock, when tying it, you should pay attention to the fact that the fishing line can be tied from all angles, and it does not necessarily have to be wound at the same angle and in the same direction. After laying it on the fake rock, gently put it into the bottom of the tank to prevent the fake rock from damaging the fish tank.

3. Use water to stick to the landscaping

Some hobbyists have a high level of complexity in their landscaping, and use a lot of landscaping objects. If they still use fishing lines to bind the moss, it may be difficult to achieve the desired landscaping results. Therefore, here is another laying method, which is to use a special water-insoluble glue. No matter how complex the landscaping is, it can basically be achieved by gluing it. However, it should be noted that after gluing the moss into the fish tank, do not add water immediately. Wait a few minutes before adding water, because watering will make it stick more firmly.
