Is it easy to raise seven-leaf lotus? How can seven-leaf lotus grow vigorously?

Seven-leaf lotus is a common flower plant in China. It is widely used in life because of its effects of dispelling wind and relieving pain, promoting blood circulation and reducing swelling. Some people even raise seven-leaf lotus at home. So how can we maintain seven-leaf lotus so that it can grow vigorously? Let's take a look.

Is the seven-leaf lotus easy to grow?

As far as I know, the seven-leaf lotus is easy to raise, as long as you pay attention to the breeding matters. The seven-leaf lotus likes high temperature, high humidity, cold and drought resistance. It is an evergreen vine shrub with many branches and aerial roots at the stem nodes. The palmate compound leaves are alternate, with 7 to 9 leaflets, oblong, dark green, and thin petioles. The potting soil should be dry or wet in spring and autumn, mainly wet in summer and dry in winter. The water quality is not very selective. The growing period is mainly from April to October.

How can the seven-leaf lotus grow vigorously?

1. Matrix requirements

Seven-leaf lily likes to grow in a loose, fertile and nutrient-rich substrate. When potting it, you can use 3 parts of peat soil and leaf mold, and then add 2 parts of river sand to mix it into culture soil. After that, repot it every 1 to 2 years. The new pot must be disinfected again before use. Prune the roots and dry them before repotting them for maintenance.

2. Lighting treatment

Seven-leaf lily likes to grow in an environment with plenty of sunlight. During the growth period, it must be guaranteed to have at least 4 hours of direct sunlight every day so that it can grow well. It needs shade at noon in summer and cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. After autumn, gradually increase the light exposure time. It is best to place it indoors.

3. Reasonable watering

Seven-leaf lily likes to grow in a humid environment. In spring, it should be watered according to the dryness and wetness of the potting soil. In summer, it needs more water, generally watered once a day to keep the potting soil moist. In autumn, it can be watered every 3 to 4 days, and in winter, watered once a week. It should not be watered too much, otherwise the roots will easily rot.

4. Fertilize regularly

Fertilization management is one of the cultivation methods and precautions of seven-leaf lily. Fertilization should be done once a week during the peak growth period in summer. Mainly, bury granular compound fertilizers of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium into the soil. If it is a variegated leaf plant, reduce nitrogen fertilizer. Apply a fully decomposed cake fertilizer solution once in autumn, and stop fertilizing in winter.

What should I pay attention to when raising seven-leaf lotus?

It is also necessary to fertilize when growing seven-leaf lilies at home, but it should be noted that if the seven-leaf lilies grown at home are of the variegated leaf variety, the amount of nitrogen fertilizer should be reduced when fertilizing. If too much nitrogen fertilizer is applied, the spots on the leaves will turn green, which will affect the ornamental effect of the spots.

When caring for the seven-leaf lily at home, pay attention to the growth temperature, try to keep the temperature between 15-25 degrees Celsius, and the lowest should not be lower than 5 degrees Celsius, otherwise the seven-leaf lily will be frostbitten. When watering the seven-leaf lily, pay attention to the consistency of water temperature and soil temperature to prevent the seven-leaf lily from being frostbitten.
