What is the problem of Dendrobium not blooming? What should I do if Dendrobium does not bloom?

Dendrobium is a kind of flower that we often see in our daily life. Because of its gorgeous flowers and easy survival, many people like to keep one or two pots at home. So what is the matter with Dendrobium not blooming? What should we do if Dendrobium does not bloom? Let's take a look.

Why does Dendrobium not bloom?

1. Improper temperature control and no flowering

Dendrobium has very strict requirements on temperature. In an environment with too low temperature, it is not conducive to growth, let alone flowering.

2. Insufficient watering will also lead to no flowering

During the period of growing flower buds, Dendrobium orchids have a relatively large demand for water and need sufficient water. If there is less watering or even drought at this time, the new flower buds that grow may dry up and fail to bloom. Therefore, it is necessary to water more often, but do not accumulate water. There is no need to water in an overly humid environment, especially during the rainy season.

3. Improper fertilization is the main reason why Dendrobium does not bloom

Many Dendrobium orchid farmers only apply nitrogen fertilizer during the fertilization process. The result is that the Dendrobium orchid grows slowly, the flowering period is delayed, or even does not bloom.

What to do if Dendrobium orchid does not bloom

1. In terms of light, it can be placed in a place with light for a long time except in summer, and it can be placed on the windowsill for maintenance. In summer, the sun is too strong, and the butterfly dendrobium is particularly afraid of exposure to the sun. It is better to pay attention to shade and diffuse light.

2. Pay attention to the temperature in winter and do not let it drop below 15℃, otherwise it will not be safe over the winter.

3. Maintain uniform humidity when watering. Reduce watering appropriately during flowering and for a short period of time afterwards, but do not let it become too dry.

4. The air humidity should be maintained at at least 60%. The environment should be kept moist and well ventilated.

5. Pay attention to fertilization. You can spray some fertilizer frequently, or make your own fermented rice water. Apply less fertilizer during the growing period and thereafter. Pay more attention to diseases and pests, prune old, weak and diseased branches in time. The air is dry in summer, so observe and prevent red spider mites at any time, and use pesticides as little as possible.

How to propagate Dendrobium phalaenopsis

Gently break off the branches from the mother plant, trying not to damage the mother plant. The newly broken off butterfly Dendrobium should be planted in new soil substrate, separate from the mother plant;

The substrate should be fertile and well-drained soil to facilitate the growth of butterfly dendrobium. At this time, as long as the temperature is suitable, it can take root and sprout;

Temperature control must meet the temperature requirements of Dendrobium officinale. Of course, it is not that exaggerated. It only needs to be no less than 15℃ at night.

Fertilization: It is common sense not to apply too much fertilizer to newly planted butterfly dendrobiums, otherwise the roots will be burned. It is recommended to apply liquid fertilizer once every 10 days.
