What kind of soil should be used to grow Clivia? How to change the soil of Clivia?

Clivia is a common flower for planting. It is very suitable for growing at home and is also the city flower of Changchun. The petals of Clivia are orange-yellow and very large, which is very beautiful. So what kind of soil should be used to plant Clivia? How to change the soil?

What kind of soil should I use to grow Clivia?

To grow Clivia well, soil is the most basic. Only suitable soil can make the plant thrive. Clivia likes acidic soil with good air permeability and drainage, and the soil should be fertile and rich in humus. You can use humus soil, sandy soil, coal slag, and mix them together to plant Clivia.

Clivia has fleshy roots and is very afraid of waterlogging in the pot soil, which will cause the plant's roots to rot. The soil for growing Clivia should not be too dry or too wet. Water it when the soil is completely dry. Water it thoroughly, not halfway. If the weather is dry, you can also spray water on the Clivia to meet the plant's need for water.

How to deal with changing the soil of Clivia

Two soil preparation methods:

1. Oak leaves 60%, pine needles 23%, charcoal 10%, sesame seeds 5%, bone meal 2%.

2. Oak leaves 50%, pine needles 20%, charcoal 10%, planting stone 15%, cake fertilizer (fermented) 5%.

When potting, trim the rotten roots first. After drying the wounds, put some expanded clay at the bottom of the pot (to prevent water accumulation). Put a little soil at the bottom of the pot first, then grab a handful of soil to fill the roots. Then put the plant in the pot, fill the soil around the pot to half the height of the pot, then press down lightly along the edge of the pot with your hands, and finally fill the entire pot with soil.

What should I pay attention to when changing the soil for Clivia?

1. Soil replacement frequency

Once a year is the best, and it is also more conducive to the growth of Clivia. The temperature is suitable in spring and autumn, which is suitable for changing the soil.

2. Do not change the soil during flowering

During this period, Clivia has a relatively large demand for nutrients. If the soil is changed, it will not only affect flowering, but may also lead to severe malnutrition.

3. Be careful not to damage the roots when changing the soil

When taking the Clivia out of the pot, try to avoid breaking the roots.

4. Serve the basin

After changing the soil, Clivia needs to avoid exposure to sunlight. Generally, it can be exposed to light after about two weeks.
