How to repair the arching of solid wood floor

1. When installing the wooden floor, the ground was not cleaned up, and there was sand and stone on the ground that scratched the moisture-proof membrane, which would swell after a long time. Disassemble the wooden floor and clean the ground.

2. The wooden floor is installed directly without sweeping the ground, and no expansion joints are left. Thermal expansion and contraction will also cause bulging.

3. When cleaning, the water on the mop is not wrung out, causing water to flow in through the gaps. Wooden floors are most afraid of water, so they are prone to bulging.

Can I use a hair dryer to blow the bulging wooden floor?

The bulging of wooden floors is mainly caused by moisture and water seeping into the wood, causing the water content of the wood to expand significantly, thus forming bubbles. Therefore, the first step is to remove moisture from the bulging areas.

Find some clean cloth, and use the cloth to wipe the drum in a circle to prevent water from entering the drum. When rubbing, you can't rub the drum, it is easy to rub the drum.

Use a hair dryer to blow. Do this several times. Remember to use cool air here. Hot air can damage the wood floor.

After a period of blowing, you will find that the bulges on the wooden floor will basically disappear.

Then place the weight on the raised wooden floor. Make sure the weight is steady, otherwise it will scratch the wooden floor.

Keep the weight on it for a few days and you’ll find that the raised wood flooring is as good as new.

Usually when cleaning wooden floors, try to avoid using a very damp mop and use a dry mop as much as possible to avoid bulging of the wooden floor.
