Why should I check my vaginal discharge at 37 weeks?

Many women think that discharge is harmless, as long as the body does not feel pain or itching. In fact, this is an incorrect understanding. Although many inflammations do not cause pain or itching, they will be reflected in discharge. Therefore, discharge is a "weather map" of women's physical and mental health. If an inflammation is not treated in time, it is easy to cause a variety of gynecological inflammation combined infection, which will increase the difficulty and time of treatment; if it is not treated for a long time, the inflammation is more likely to become malignant and cause female infertility; the number one culprit for women - cervical cancer is one of the most common gynecological malignant tumors. Globally, more than 200,000 women die from cervical cancer each year. Many patients with cervical erosion have a history of increased leucorrhea, blood in leucorrhea, pain or bleeding during sexual intercourse, low back pain, abdominal pain, discomfort during urination, etc. There is no way to distinguish cervical erosion from early cervical cancer with the naked eye. Therefore, it is even more necessary to rely on routine leucorrhea examination and clinical medical examination as a yardstick for diagnosis!

Routine examination of leucorrhea:

1. Vaginal pH: The normal vaginal pH is between 4 and 4.5, which is acidic and can prevent pathogens from multiplying in the female vagina. The pH of Trichomonas vaginitis may be within this range. When suffering from Candida or bacterial vaginitis, the pH of secretions increases and may exceed 5-6. It is an inspection item for routine leucorrhea examination.

2. Leucorrhea cleanliness: Generally divided into four degrees, generally Ⅰ, Ⅱ numbers are normal, Ⅲ, Ⅳ degrees indicate vaginitis, that is, a large number of white blood cells or fungi can be seen in the secretion photo. Items to check for routine leucorrhea examination.

3. Microbial strain inspection: Generally, bacteria, Trichomonas, and Nausea gonococci will be found. If present, the result will be marked as “ ”, and if not, “-” will be shown.

4. Amine test: The secretions of vaginal diseases infected with bacteria may emit a fishy odor, which is caused by the amines in the secretions being evaporated after being alkaline with ferric chloride solution. 5. Gardnerella: Gardnerella is the most sensitive and specific clinical symptom of bacterial infection of vaginal disease. Clinicians can make a diagnosis of bacterial infection of vaginal disease based on a positive amine test and the presence of Gardnerella.
