Is it normal for women to have two periods in one month during menopause?

Once women enter menopause, they will be accompanied by a variety of uncomfortable symptoms, and these uncomfortable symptoms vary in many ways, and can be mild or severe. For example, irregular menstruation is a common symptom of menopause. Failure to stop menstruating after the menstruation comes and long menstrual cycles indicate endocrine imbalance and menstrual disorders. The clinical symptoms include menstrual disorders, sweating, excitability, irritability, fatigue, insomnia, headaches and other symptoms. So, is it normal for women to have two periods in one month during menopause?

Because after women enter menopause, the function of their ovaries begins to decline. The first is the idiopathic decline of the corpus luteum function. When the uterus develops to a certain level, it shrinks autonomously and there is no ovulation period. There is no progesterone production, which is manifested as a decline in fertility. The time interval between menstrual cycles increases, mainly manifested as intermittent amenorrhea. From the normal 20 to 30 days to 2 to 3 months or longer. The menstrual flow may be normal or lower than before, and the interval gradually increases to once every 4 to 5 months or half a year, and then stops completely. Generally, from ovarian decline to the end of menstruation, there are three conditions for menstrual transition:

(1) Infrequent menstruation: The menstrual cycle is prolonged, from the normal 20 to 30 days to once every 2 to 3 months or longer. The menstrual flow may be normal or lower than before, and the interval gradually increases to once every 4 to 5 months or half a year, and then stops completely.

(2) Menstrual cycle disorder: The normal menstrual cycle becomes frequent vaginal bleeding. Sometimes the menstrual period is prolonged or becomes continuous vaginal bleeding, which lasts for more than 1 to 2 months. There may also be heavy vaginal bleeding. The patient may develop anemia, sallow complexion, fatigue, panic, chest tightness and shortness of breath. In severe cases, hemoglobin concentration can drop significantly. Some women have recurrent bleeding, but generally after 1 to 2 years, the menstrual period stops completely. At this time, the doctor needs to conduct a detailed examination, first of all, to check for bleeding caused by other tumors. For women over 40 years old, a comprehensive examination or a uterine wall biopsy should be performed. After the tumor is diagnosed, the menopausal menstrual disorder is treated accordingly. Disrupted menstrual cycles are most common before menopause. According to reports, researchers observed 282 premenopausal women and found that 181 of them had menstrual cycle disorders, accounting for 63.8%.

(3) Sudden menopause: A small number of women have normal menstrual cycles and menstrual periods in the past, but suddenly go through menopause; some women have normal cycles, but only have a few periods of gradual decrease in menstrual flow, and then the menstrual period suddenly stops. According to the report, an observation was conducted on 282 women with natural menopause, and it was found that 40 of them had sudden menopause, accounting for 14.1%. Therefore, most of them are the first two manifestations.
