Is it normal to have stomach pain before your period?

Menstruation is a painful and annoying thing for a girl. Sometimes, it is inconvenient to move and have abdominal pain during menstruation. If there is abnormal abdominal pain after menstruation, it means that the health condition is abnormal and needs to be taken care of urgently. So is it normal to have abdominal pain before menstruation? How to take care of the body to recover?

Most women experience mild abdominal pain before their period, which is normal. Before menstruation, the pelvis will be in a state of hematoma, so there will be a feeling of discomfort in the lower abdomen. However, if lower abdominal pain occurs before menstruation and affects daily affairs and life, then it is an abnormal situation. It is likely that you had chronic pelvic inflammation in the past. Before menstruation, the pelvis was in a state of hematoma, which aggravated the original pelvic inflammation hematoma and caused abdominal pain. In addition, if you are a patient with endometriosis, you will also experience abdominal pain before your period, so it is recommended to have a gynecological examination and B-ultrasound examination, and then give corresponding treatment based on the clinical cause of the abdominal pain.

What should I do if I have menstrual pain?

1. Stay warm

Drinking a hot winter drink or applying a hand warmer to your lower abdomen can help keep your body warm. Keeping the body warm can accelerate blood circulation, effectively relieve uterine cramps and pelvic hematoma, and thus have an analgesic effect.

2. Acupressure

The feet have a number of acupressure points that are thought to connect with the chi in the pelvic region. Slowly pinch with your thumb and fingertips, moving up along the heel to the calf muscle. Acupressure massage for a few minutes can effectively relieve pain.

3. Practice yoga

Yoga fitness can also relieve menstrual cramps. Kneel down on your bent knees and sit on your heels. Keep your forehead on the ground and your arms straight at your sides. Maintain this posture until you feel uncomfortable and the symptoms of dysmenorrhea are relieved.

4. Moxibustion

Use Sanyinjiao, Zusanli and other acupoints, and hang the moxibustion patch at a height of about 3cm from the acupoints to make the part moist and hot without burning pain. Massage each acupoint for about 10-15 minutes, until a blush appears on the skin.

5. Taking painkillers

When menstrual pain begins, women can take painkillers with milk or food. The painkillers take effect in about 20-30 minutes and last for about 12 hours. This method is not recommended for long-term use.
