What to do if you are infertile after IUD removal

The family planning policy in our country is strict. For pregnant women, they need to use IUDs to avoid violating the national policy. However, for pregnant women, they need to remove IUDs. However, infertility after IUD removal needs to be properly handled. So what should we do if we have infertility after IUD removal?

What to do if you have infertility after taking out the IUD

1. Treatment of bilateral fallopian tube obstruction. Different treatment plans are selected according to the location and degree of fallopian tube obstruction.

2. Treatment of bilateral blocked fallopian tubes. If the obstruction is caused by blockage of part of the fallopian tube fimbria and blockage of the isthmus of one or both fallopian tubes, they can be treated according to the method of bilateral fallopian tube blockage. For patients with partial obstruction of the interstitial and isthmic parts of bilateral fallopian tubes, laparoscopic surgery may not reveal positive results, and hysteroscopic bilateral fallopian tube catheterization can be performed for treatment.

3. Treatment of bilateral fallopian tube inflammation. It is only suitable for those with mild fallopian tube adhesion and blockage, and those with a short disease duration, otherwise the treatment effect will be poor. It is feasible to take Chinese herbal medicines for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, retain Chinese herbal medicines for enema and acupoint injection, cooperate with ultrashort wave therapy and other methods to promote local blood circulation, which is beneficial to clear inflammation.

4. In vitro fertilization-test tube transfer technology (IVF-ET). For patients who have undergone bilateral fallopian tube and pelvic plastic surgery and still cannot get pregnant naturally 6 to 1 year later, the chance of getting pregnant naturally is very low. It is generally not considered to undergo plastic surgery, and in vitro fertilization (IVF-ET) is recommended to be done immediately. Patients with bilateral fallopian tube infertility tend to choose IVF, especially those who are old, have been infertile for a long time, combined with other infertility factors, or when the above-mentioned surgical and conservative treatments are not effective, IVF should be used as soon as possible to avoid missing the best growth period of women and resulting in a lower pregnancy rate.

The key causes of female infertility

1. Bilateral fallopian tube factors: The bilateral fallopian tubes are too long or narrow, and salpingitis causes obstruction of the inferior vena cava, water retention or adhesion, which will hinder the functioning of male sperm, eggs or sperm-egg combination. Fallopian tube disease can account for 25% of female infertility and is a key cause of infertility.

2. Uterine and ovarian factors: Uterine and ovarian hypoplasia, corpus luteum insufficiency, premature ovarian failure, polycystic ovary syndrome, uterine and ovarian tumors and other factors that affect uterine development or egg cell discharge can all lead to infertility.

3. Cervical diseases: Congenital abnormalities, closure or stenosis, polyps, erosions, tumors, adhesions, etc. of the cervical canal can affect the passage of male sperm. The presence of anti-sperm antibodies in cervical mucus hinders sperm from passing through the cervical canal or completely incapacitates sperm activity.

4. Congenital abnormalities in the development of male reproductive organs or non-hereditary male reproductive organ diseases: They may block the smooth and functioning of the reproductive passage from the private parts to the fallopian tubes, hinder the meeting of sperm and egg cells, and cause infertility.

5. Medical immunological factors: It refers to the presence of anti-sperm antibodies in the female reproductive system or blood cells, which cause the sperm to coagulate with each other, lose their charm or die, causing infertility or sterility. In addition, some infertile women's blood cells contain zona pellucida antigen-like substances that are specific to their own ovum, which can prevent male sperm from fertilizing the ovum and may also cause infertility.
