Bleeding down there but not like my period

Bleeding down there but not like my period

Sometimes women will find some bleeding in the lower body when they are not on their menstrual period. There are many reasons for this phenomenon, which can be simply divided into physiological and non-physiological. Non-physiological bleeding is ovulation bleeding and withdrawal bleeding. If it is physiological, it may be cervical gynecological diseases such as cervicitis and cervical polyps. In more serious cases, it may be cervical cancer.

Bleeding but not like period

1. If you bleed during ovulation, it is normal. During ovulation, the uterine wall sheds, causing regular vaginal bleeding, which may also be accompanied by mild discomfort and soreness in the lower abdomen. However, some people will have a longer bleeding time during ovulation, which varies according to the physical fitness of each person.

2. If bleeding occurs during non-menstrual intercourse, it is an abnormal condition. This type of contact bleeding is mostly related to cervicitis, cervical erosion, polyps, and even cervical cancer. Therefore, if you find that you bleed frequently during sexual intercourse, you should have a comprehensive gynecological examination as soon as possible to avoid missing the best treatment stage.

3. Sometimes there is bleeding after taking emergency contraception, which can also be called "withdrawal bleeding". This is because after taking emergency contraception, the body's growth hormone will change and cause non-menstrual bleeding. In this case, it can also be regarded as a menstrual period.

Regardless of the reasons for non-menstrual bleeding, it is actually abnormal for women. So first of all, we need to observe the time of bleeding. If it only occurs once or twice accidentally, it should not be life-threatening. If the bleeding is always during ovulation, it is not serious. Secondly, observe whether the amount of bleeding is heavy, what the shape of the blood is, and whether there are other uncomfortable symptoms. In addition, patients should pay attention to rest, avoid staying up late, quit smoking and drinking, pay attention to hygiene, and try to reduce the intake of spicy and cold irritating foods.
