Why do women get Bartholin's gland abscess?

The Bartholin's glands are located just below the labia majora on both sides, with the gland opening close to the rupture of the hymen. Very similar to the bulbourethral glands in men. Because modern people pay less and less attention to their health, have an overly rich nightlife, and have an unhealthy diet, more and more women are suffering from Bartholin's gland cysts. Bartholin's gland cyst is caused by blockage of the Bartholin's gland duct, mainly due to chronic irritation, friction and bacterial infection, which leads to inflammation and cyst. The root cause is probably due to lack of attention to hygiene, unclean sex life, long-term friction, repeated vulvitis and vaginitis. The secretions accumulate and form Bartholin's gland cysts, which block the glands after the inflammation subsides. The secretions cannot be discharged, and the pus gradually turns into fermentation fluid, forming cysts. Bartholin's gland cysts vary in size and volume; some will grow larger over time, while others will remain the same size for many years. If the cysts are small and not infected, the patient will have no active symptoms. However, if the vagina is swollen, the patient will feel a sense of heaviness and pain in the private parts and discomfort during sexual intercourse.

Bartholin's gland cysts are common in women of childbearing age and after menopause, and are related to the liver. Because the liver surrounds the genitals, liver fire can cause poor blood circulation, causing blood to stagnate in certain areas and form lumps. For smaller cysts, there is no threat to life and regular doctor check-ups and observations are sufficient. If the cyst continues to expand and repeatedly becomes infected and forms cysts, it is recommended to go to a reliable hospital for treatment.

For patients with Bartholin's gland cyst infection, they should stay in bed as much as possible before the cyst forms, so as to reduce friction, and take appropriate antibiotics to reduce inflammation. Therefore, patients with cysts should pay attention to hygiene on a daily basis, keep their private parts clean on a daily basis, change underwear frequently to prevent foreign bacteria from invading and causing reinfection. They should also eat less spicy and greasy foods, eat more high-protein foods, maintain a stable diet, clothing, housing, transportation and work schedule, and reduce the risk of infection.
