Itchy and peeling nipples on one side of a woman

Itchy and peeling nipples on one side of a woman

Nipple itching is a common breast problem among women, and many women experience nipple itching. For example, some people have itchy nipples, itchy areas around the nipples, and peeling skin; some people have itchy nipples on one side. What is the reason?

1. Itchy nipples during menstruation

Because the nipple belongs to the liver, the main responsibility for nipple itching lies with the liver. Due to qi deficiency and blood stasis and qi and blood deficiency, it is mainly manifested before and after the menstrual period or during the menstrual period, the nipple itching is unbearable, or the pain makes it difficult to get close to clothes, and it gradually subsides after the menstrual period, which is also called "nipple itching".

2. Seasonal allergy nipple itching

Skin allergies such as bra fabrics and static electricity, bath gel and soap, skin care products, laundry detergents, food, and medications can all cause nipple itching.

3. Poor lifestyle

The key is breast cleaning. Too little bathing, such as infestation, can cause nipple itching; and excessive bathing and excessive nipple cleaning can also cause nipple itching in women due to damage to the oil layer of skin secretion.

4. Rapid breast enlargement and nipple itching

For example, girls in puberty and mothers who are breastfeeding, because of the rapid enlargement of breasts, the secretions around the nipples of puberty girls will increase significantly. If they do not pay attention to local hygiene and use poor shower gel, soap and bra size fabrics, it will cause dryness and peeling, which will inevitably cause unbearable nipple itching. It is a normal reaction of pregnancy to cause nipple itching caused by milk bubbles and nipple enlargement in breastfeeding women.

5. Pathological nipple itching

a. Breast eczema

This type of eczematous nipple itching can occur in people of all ages, and people with a history of skin allergies or a family history are more likely to suffer from eczema. The environmental causes of eczema include: dry skin, long bathing time, dyes and spices in skin care products, detergents, wool and foam and other environmental allergens, as well as pressure, which is an upgrade of seasonal allergic nipple itching.

The diagnosis is usually made based on routine physical examinations and medical records, and most treatments are local, such as steroid creams. Experts suggest that patient care and protection are very important for alleviating eczema, such as avoiding known causes of skin allergies, maintaining natural skin moisture as much as possible, avoiding the use of soap as much as possible, and not taking long baths.

b. Paget's disease

It is a rare form of breast cancer in which hypopigmented spots appear on the nipple and in a reticular pattern. This is also the most worrying cause of nipple itching. The initial symptoms are itching or burning of the nipples and nipples, accompanied by the appearance of dead skin. If there is no improvement after medication, yellowish or bloody secretions may appear at the affected area.

This type of disease only affects one side, and patients are mostly between 50 and 60 years old. The diagnosis can be made based on clinical breast examination, patient medical history, mammogram and ultrasound. If you are still in doubt, you can use an MRI to confirm the diagnosis.
