Table of prohibited ingredients in skin care products for breastfeeding period

When it comes to skin care during pregnancy, one is more concerned about using skin care products that contain ingredients that are prohibited for pregnant women. If skin care products containing ingredients prohibited for pregnant women are used, it may cause many serious adverse effects to pregnant women, such as miscarriage or fetal deformity. However, not every pregnant woman is an expert in chemistry and knows what ingredients pregnant women should not use.

Table of prohibited ingredients in skin care products during breastfeeding

1. Salicylic Acid (BHA)

Salicylic acid has a certain facial exfoliating effect, especially for acne skin, it has a good effect of unclogging the skin pores, but for the fetus, it will have the actual effect of causing fetal malformation.

2. Artificial synthetic fragrances

Pregnant women are prone to sensitive conditions due to the disorder of growth hormone metabolism. Artificial fragrances are unlikely to have an impact on the fetus, but they can easily cause sensitive skin. Therefore, it is recommended that you avoid using products with artificial fragrances during pregnancy.

3. Chemical sunscreens

Try to avoid using chemical sunscreen during pregnancy, because the ingredients in chemical sunscreen are easily absorbed by the skin into the blood. Therefore, during pregnancy, it is best to choose a purely physical sunscreen.

4. Some single essential oil ingredients

Single essential oils in Europe are like Chinese herbal medicines. Some single essential oils are toxic and may affect the fetus or the mother, while some single essential oils have the effect of clearing the meridians and can be used during menstrual cramps, but using them during pregnancy can easily lead to miscarriage. The single essential oils that cannot be used during pregnancy are: fennel, wormwood, arnica, basil, birch, camphor, tassel tree, clary sage, cypress, fennel, hyssop, lily, juniper, herb, mint, savory, rosemary, sage, savory, thyme, holly, etc.!

The use of cosmetics during breastfeeding can be avoided if possible, but if it is unavoidable, they must be used with caution, because many types of cosmetics on the market are not good for babies.
