The dangers of high thyroid-stimulating hormone in women

When the thyroid hormone is low, high thyroid-stimulating hormone levels can be found during examination. This is mainly a disease in which the body's metabolism is reduced due to the reduction in thyroid hormone production and metabolism or the disruption of normal physiological functions. So what harm will it cause when clinical medical examination shows that the thyroid stimulating hormone level is high?

Pale face, puffy eyelids and cheeks, apathetic expression, dementia, dry, thickened, rough, flaky skin, non-pitting edema, hair falling out, hands and soles of feet becoming sallow, weight gain, and in a very small number of patients, thick and brittle nails.

Neuropsychiatric system: memory loss, intellectual disability, constant sleepiness, dullness, suspicious nature, dizziness, headache, tinnitus, deafness, nystagmus, ataxia, slow tendon reflexes, increased Achilles tendon reflex time, in severe cases, dementia, stupor, and even coma.

Endocrine system: bradycardia, decreased cardiac output, low blood pressure, dull heart sounds, dilated heart, high incidence of coronary heart disease, but generally no angina pectoris or heart failure, sometimes accompanied by pericardial effusion and pleural effusion, and myxedema cardiomyopathy in critically ill patients.

Digestive tract: anorexia, abdominal distension, constipation, in severe cases, paralytic ileus may occur, the gallbladder contraction becomes weak and swells, more than half of the patients have a lack of gastric juice, resulting in pernicious anemia and iron deficiency anemia.

Endocrine system: muscle weakness, pain, stiffness, which may be associated with osteoarthritis such as chronic arthritis,

Endocrine system: women have menorrhagia, amenorrhea, and infertility; men have erectile dysfunction and low libido. Very few patients have milk secretion and secondary pituitary enlargement.

When the condition worsens, stress reactions such as severe cold, infection, surgery, improper use of anesthesia or sedatives can cause myxedema coma, which is mainly manifested by hypothermia (T<35℃), slow breathing, bradycardia, low blood pressure, loose limb muscle tone, weakened or disappeared reflexes, and even coma, shock, heart and kidney failure,

Problems of being small: small expression, unsalable, low and hoarse pronunciation of phonetic symbols, pale face, periorbital edema, widened eyes, flat nose, thick lips and drooling, large and protruding tongue, short and thick limbs, duck gait,

Juvenile hypothyroidism: short stature, low intelligence, and delayed sexual development.

Therefore, in order to prevent hypothyroidism, we also need to pay attention to some suspected cases in our daily life and need to check the level of thyroid stimulating hormone regularly. At the same time, active prevention is also very important. For example, in the early stage, we can take some medicines to actively regulate our mood, or choose Chinese medicine treatment to calm our mentality and actively treat it. At the same time, improving our own immunity is also an important method of disease prevention and treatment.
