What causes shorter menstrual cycles?

In fact, women's menstrual cycles are relatively fixed. You can roughly know how long your menstrual cycle is in the first one or two months of your period. However, some women have found that their menstrual cycles are gradually getting shorter, which makes them feel a little uneasy. So what is the reason for the reduction of menstrual cycles?

Reasons for decreased menstrual cycle

Relevant scientific research on neurotransmitter endocrinology shows that hypothalamic pituitary transmitters such as opioid peptide (EOP), epinephrine (NE) and dopamine (DA) are significantly associated with the occurrence of hot flashes. Serotonin (5-HT) has a regulatory effect on endocrine, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, emotions, and married life. It has been reported that independent neurological dysfunction in patients with menopausal syndrome is associated with a sharp decrease in blood 5-HT.

Clinical experiments have further confirmed that the 5-HT level in the hypothalamus-pituitary gland drops sharply after oophorectomy, and the use of estrogen can produce a significant reversal. Therefore, it is believed that the neurological dysfunction symptoms manifested by menopausal syndrome may be related to the decrease of 5-HT with age. Scientific studies have found that the levels of beta-endorphin (beta-EP) and antigen in the blood of postmenopausal women are significantly lower than those of women of reproductive age. The decrease in beta-EP antigen indicates that the immune system's neuroendocrine regulation function is disrupted, resulting in various neuropsychiatric symptoms.

Reduced menstrual cycles, frequent menstruation, and prolonged menstruation are the main manifestations of menstrual disorders. It should be considered that it is multifunctional uterine bleeding during the growth period and the possibility of luteal insufficiency is high. It is recommended to do a six-item blood endocrine hormone test and color Doppler ultrasound examination on the second day of menarche. If there is no organic disease, you can consider using Ganjin Yimu Granules to regulate menstruation. Start taking it five days before your period and continue for three cycles. During the menstrual period, you should pay attention to rest and keep warm. Don't eat spicy food or cold food. Sexual intercourse is strictly prohibited during the menstrual period.
