What are the symptoms of cervical erosion?

In our daily life, cervical erosion is a relatively common gynecological disease. Many female friends are confused by cervical erosion. Do you know what cervical erosion is? What are the symptoms of cervical erosion? Let’s learn about it with the editor.

What is cervical erosion?

Cervical erosion refers to the deviation of the squamous epithelial cells on the outside of the cervical opening and the columnar epithelial cells on the inside of the cervix at the intersection. Cervical erosion is a normal physiological condition caused by growth hormone.

Because the color of the female cervix is red and it looks like erosion like eczema, this condition is called "cervical erosion". In fact, there is no real erosion there. It is just that due to the influence of growth hormone, the squamous epithelial cells on the outside of the cervical os and the columnar epithelial cells on the inside of the cervix are displaced at the junction. Since the columnar epithelial cells are thinner, the blood vessels underneath are often exposed when more columnar epithelial cells are exposed, making the area appear reddish.

What are the symptoms of cervical erosion?

1. Excessive leucorrhea

There are many symptoms of cervical erosion, and excessive leucorrhea is the clinical symptom of cervical erosion. Generally, vaginal discharge is milky white or light yellow purulent secretion, which is sometimes stubborn or mixed with blood, which are all manifestations of cervical erosion.

The symptoms of cervical erosion may also cause itching and pain in the private parts due to excessive leucorrhea in the vagina, which may lead to secondary vulvitis or vaginitis.

3. Pain in the lower abdomen and lumbar region

When the inflammation is severe, it can spread along the uterosacral cruciate ligament and the main cruciate ligament to cause pelvic connective tissue inflammation, causing pain in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral region, accompanied by a feeling of falling. If the inflammation spreads to the main cruciate ligament, sexual intercourse pain may occur.
