The woman has mycoplasma, why doesn't the man?

Mycoplasma infection is generally transmitted through sexual intercourse, which means that if one party is infected with mycoplasma, the other party is also likely to become ill. However, in normal times, many people encounter situations where only the woman has mycoplasma infection, but the man does not have this disease. So, if the woman has mycoplasma, why doesn’t the man? Let’s take a look at the reasons below.

Clinically, there are the following situations :

First, although the woman was infected with mycoplasma, she did not transmit it to the man, so the man did not get it.

Second, the issue of the positive rate. The positive rate of mycoplasma infection is 40%. Although the man has been infected, it may not be detected. Repeated examinations are needed to find out whether there is mycoplasma infection.

Third, there are problems with the specimen. Whether it is urine, semen, or prostatic fluid, it may be a problem of time or recent use of antibiotics, and mycoplasma positivity may not be detected.

Fourth, the problem of body immunity. Although the man is infected with mycoplasma, his body immunity is strong enough and he will not get sick, so the positive rate of the test is negative. The above are the main specific reasons why the woman has mycoplasma infection but the man does not.

Methods to prevent mycoplasma infection:

(1) Actively exercise. You should exercise regularly on weekdays, and keep the indoor air fresh and the temperature appropriate when sleeping. You should sleep with windows open since childhood, or at least have indirect ventilation. Make full use of sunbathing, air bathing and water bathing. Improving physical fitness is the first important factor in disease prevention.

(2) Maintain hygiene and avoid cross infection. Avoid going to crowded and poorly ventilated places such as cinemas, department stores, and supermarkets. Try to avoid contact with patients, seek medical treatment nearby if you are sick, go to large hospitals less often, and shorten waiting time. In the past, it was believed that respiratory diseases were only transmitted by breathing, but in recent years it has been confirmed that contact transmission is an important mode of transmission. It should be noted that children should not be exposed to passive smoking. Being smoked is an important reason for increasing the risk of respiratory diseases in children.

(3) Drug prevention. Certain Chinese and Western medicines can improve the body's cellular and humoral immune functions. It is best to take them under the guidance of a doctor.

(4) Vaccination. At present, some places use attenuated virus vaccines, but they are not yet widely used. Vaccines have been designed for prevention, but the protection rate is only 50%, and there is no systematic report on antibiotic prevention.

Precautions

Drink plenty of water, eat easily digestible and nutritious food, eat more fruits, such as watermelon, orange, pear, etc.; children with worsening cough should pay attention to rest, reduce running, jumping and shouting; pay attention to indoor ventilation to keep the air fresh; humidity is 60% (controlled by a humidifier) to prevent respiratory secretions from drying out and being difficult to cough out; children with mycoplasma pneumonia should not go to daycare or school to prevent infecting other children, and they can resume going to daycare and school when mycoplasma antibodies are negative; do not take oral macrolide drugs on an empty stomach; when fever occurs, physical cooling should be used as the main method, such as ice packs, alcohol baths, and antipyretic patches. If the body temperature exceeds 38 degrees, antipyretic drugs can be added.
