Why do I have lower abdominal pain during intercourse?

Many female friends will feel lower abdominal pain during sexual intercourse. This phenomenon is mostly caused by a certain disease they have suffered from before. After it happens, they should stop having sex and seek treatment for the related disease. Forcing sexual intercourse will make the disease more serious and may even cause damage to their pelvis or uterus.

1) Acute lower abdominal pain may be caused by the following reasons: acute inflammation of pelvic organs, such as the uterus, regional enteritis: perforation or rupture of pelvic and abdominal organs, such as ectopic pregnancy, rupture, stomach, duodenal ulcer, gastric cancer, appendicitis, gallbladder perforation and rupture of appendix abscess, among which ectopic pregnancy rupture and appendix perforation abscess are the most common. In addition, acute intestinal obstruction, stones in abdominal organs, acute blood flow disorders in pelvic organs, such as ovarian tumor torsion, hydrosalpinx torsion, intestinal torsion, as well as parasites, dysmenorrhea, and pelvic and abdominal trauma can all cause acute lower abdominal pain.

Some abdominal pain is located at or near the lesion site, while some is not related to the lesion site. As the disease progresses, the location of abdominal pain changes again. The abdomen can be divided into two types: 1) Organ pain where the pain is located, that is, pain in the diseased organ itself. 2) Referred pain radiating to the body wall. The former can also turn into the latter. Gynecological acute abdomen often manifests as pain in internal organs, such as metastasis of ovarian tumor pedicle and torsion of hydrosalpinx. However, there are also cases where the patient first feels abdominal pain in the affected area and then the condition changes later on, so special attention should be paid to referred pain.

2) Chronic abdominal pain is mainly characterized by dull pain in the lower abdomen and sacral pain, which is mostly caused by chronic dysentery, chronic adnexitis, chronic pelvic connective tissue inflammation, pelvic congestion, retroverted uterus, uterine hypertrophy, uterine prolapse, etc. Symptoms such as dull pain in the lower abdomen, a feeling of heaviness, and backache are often aggravated after fatigue, standing for a long time, after sexual intercourse, and during menstruation. Some inflammations of the genital tract may lead to ascending infection. It is necessary to go to the hospital for examination in time to identify the cause and receive targeted treatment.

Male: Urethritis

Gonorrhea, chlamydia and mycoplasma that cause urethritis are one of the pathogens that cause the disease. Because the symptoms of urethritis caused by Chlamydia and Mycoplasma are not obvious or even asymptomatic, many people mistakenly believe that there are no symptoms, which delays the examination and treatment. If mycoplasma infection is not treated for a long time, it will attach to the tail of male sperm and cause a significant decrease in sperm motility, thus affecting conception. Accompanying symptoms include painful urination, burning sensation, lower abdominal pain, etc.
