How to deal with placenta previa bleeding

How to deal with placenta previa bleeding

In the case of placenta previa bleeding, everyone needs to take relevant measures in daily life. First of all, you need to stop the bleeding so that the fetus can be delivered safely through the vagina. In this case, you must cooperate well with the doctor to avoid excessive bleeding and termination of pregnancy. In case of placenta previa bleeding, a caesarean section is usually required, and if the placenta is low in the late pregnancy, timely treatment is required.

How to deal with placenta previa bleeding

After placenta previa occurs, if it is partial or marginal placenta previa, as long as the bleeding stops, the fetus can be delivered safely through the vagina. If you encounter this situation, you must cooperate with the doctor quietly and get the treatment. If bleeding is excessive, you should consider terminating the pregnancy as soon as possible. The delivery was safe by cesarean section.

Unprovoked, painless vaginal bleeding during late pregnancy or at the onset of labor. The bleeding time of complete placenta previa is early (around 28 weeks of pregnancy), the amount of bleeding is large and it occurs repeatedly; the bleeding time of partial placenta previa and low-lying placenta is later and less than the former. Because the placenta is located in the lower part of the uterus, malposition of the fetus or high floating of the fetal head is prone to occur, increasing the rate of dystocia.

To date, the cause of placenta previa has not been determined. It may be caused by delayed development of the fertilized egg, or it may be related to multiple births, multiple curettages, cesarean sections, or other injuries and lesions in the uterus. When the fertilized egg implants, the placenta expands to absorb enough nutrients. If the placenta is too large, it may extend to the lower part of the uterus, which may cause placenta previa. In recent years, due to the use of B-ultrasound for prenatal examinations, the diagnosis rate of placenta previa can generally reach more than 90%.

The dangers of placenta previa

In the late pregnancy, if the placenta previa and vaginal bleeding occur, it is easy to cause premature birth. Premature babies may die because of their poor survival ability.

Shock in the expectant mother may cause fetal distress in the uterus, and severe hypoxia may lead to fetal death in the womb.

Placenta previa is often complicated by placenta adhesion and placenta accreta, which results in incomplete placental separation and causes heavy bleeding.

The placental detachment surface of placenta previa is close to the external cervical opening, and bacteria can easily invade the placental detachment surface from the vagina and cause infection, thus threatening the health of mother and baby.

There are several cases of placenta previa

Placenta previa situation 1: Complete placenta previa. This means that the placenta completely blocks the cervical opening in this case.

Placenta previa situation 2: partial placenta previa. In this case, the placenta only partially obscures the cervical opening.

Placenta previa situation three: marginal placenta previa. This condition occurs when the edge of the placenta just reaches the internal cervix.

Placenta previa situation 4: low-lying placenta. In this case, the placenta is located in the lower part of the uterus.

As the pregnancy progresses, the uterus gradually grows due to the growth of the fetus, and the placenta usually moves up as well. Only some people will continue to have a "placenta previa" state until the late stages of pregnancy.
