How long can you live with breast cancer bone metastasis?

The problem of breast cancer is still relatively common in clinical practice. If many women's breast cancer is not treated in time, it is easy to develop into the late stage. Some women's breast cancer may still metastasize even after treatment. If breast cancer metastasizes to the bones, it means the condition has worsened, and attention should also be paid to the issue of survival. So how long can you live with breast cancer bone metastasis?

1. Breast cancer is a common malignant breast tumor that causes great harm to people's health. Breast cancer usually presents as a painless lump in the breast, which may lead to local invasion, lymph node metastasis, and distant metastasis. Common distant metastases include the lungs, liver, and bones. Bone metastasis of breast cancer can manifest as symptoms such as bone pain and fractures. How long bone metastasis can survive has no obvious relationship with the bone metastasis itself. It depends on whether the tumor has metastasis to other organs and the molecular biological behavior of the tumor itself.

2. The survival rate of breast cancer bone metastasis is as high as 65% to 75%. There are approximately 1 million new cases of breast cancer worldwide each year, with at least 150,000 in my country. After breast cancer relapses and metastases, 60-70% of breast cancer patients will successively develop bone metastasis. Once bone metastasis is found, the patient's life expectancy is only about two years, which is significantly shortened compared to the 10-20 years of overall breast cancer life expectancy. If there is bone metastasis combined with visceral metastasis, the tumor burden, molecular typing, and sensitivity to treatment must be considered, as it may endanger the patient's life. The average survival time of patients with advanced breast cancer metastasis is 3-4 years.

3. The survival period of breast cancer patients with bone metastasis can be effectively extended. Biological treatment can improve the overall resistance of patients with breast cancer bone metastasis to the original level, and effectively prolong the life of patients with breast cancer bone metastasis. The reason why the survival period of breast cancer bone metastasis is shortened is mainly because cancer cells invade into the bones, which reduces the overall resistance of the patient. Therefore, biological treatment can make up for it, but the specific condition still requires an individualized treatment plan.
