Nasopharyngeal cancer in women

Judging from the incidence rate of nasopharyngeal cancer, the probability of men suffering from nasopharyngeal cancer is much higher than that of women, but in recent years, many women have also been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. As a cancer disease, nasopharyngeal carcinoma may lead to more serious illness and even endanger the patient's life if timely treatment measures are not taken in the early stages. Therefore, female friends need to understand the symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer.

Nasopharyngeal cancer is common in men and relatively rare in women! The main symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer in women are progressive nasal congestion, blood in the nasal discharge, stuffy ears, tinnitus, and in severe cases, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, headaches, and other symptoms!

When women develop nasopharyngeal carcinoma, they need to actively undergo electronic nasopharyngeal endoscopy examination, local pathology, and further symptomatic treatment after the pathological classification is clear. The most common pathological type of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, which requires active radiotherapy.

What are the symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer in women?

Symptom 1: When nasopharyngeal carcinoma invades the middle cranial fossa and compresses adjacent tissues, a variety of cranial nerve symptoms will appear, such as blurred vision, diplopia, and fixed eyeballs. It can also cause throat paralysis, dysphagia and sensory disorders, hoarseness, hemiplegia of the tongue, and even atrophy.

Symptom 2: The patient has blood in the nasal mucus, or blood in the nasal mucus is sucked back from the mouth, which is also called aspirated blood in sputum. Hemorrhage often occurs in the morning after getting up. When the amount of blood in the mucus is not large, it is often neglected by patients, who mistake it for rhinitis or sinusitis, or they go to the internal medicine department for treatment of hemoptysis.

Symptom 3: Most people will experience headaches in the early stages of nasopharyngeal cancer. Moreover, when nasopharyngeal cancer is first diagnosed, the headache symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer often manifest as migraine, pain in the top of the head, occipital area, or neck. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma headaches are mostly related to cancer tissue invading the bones, nerves and blood vessels at the skull base.

Precautions

The symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer are quite common in our real life, and are very similar to the symptoms of other diseases, which makes it easy for us to ignore them and cause misdiagnosis. Therefore, we must take preventive measures and go to regular hospitals for relevant examinations regularly.
