Bleeding from cervical polyps

Bleeding from cervical polyps

Cervical polyps are a relatively serious disease, and patients may experience bleeding during the illness. Cervical polyps need to be treated promptly. If not treated, they may affect fertility. Some girls still don’t have children after being married for many years. I went to the hospital and after examination, I found that it was cervical polyp. Therefore, girls need to pay attention to cervical polyps and pay attention to their bodies in time. So, what should you do if cervical polyps bleed?

1. Causes and common diseases

The lamina propria of the endocervical canal constitutes the polyps of the cervix, and its organizational structure is the surface covered epithelium and subcutaneous crypt tissue. Generally, when ulcers occur on the surface epithelium, the crypt tissue underneath will become granulation tissue with certain characteristics, that is, polyps with visible symptoms; if squamous metaplasia of varying shapes occurs on the surface epithelium, this type of polyp will have dilatation of the cervical crypts. Sometimes these polyps are composed of cysts surrounded by more mucus, which are covered with squamous epithelium. If polyps proliferate abnormally, they may transform into epidermoid carcinoma or adenocarcinoma, posing a threat to women's life and health.

2. Inspection

Increased leucorrhea, slight vaginal bleeding, abnormal yellow leucorrhea, vaginal bleeding after menopause, and vaginal prolapse of tumors in unmarried women. B-ultrasound examination revealed space-occupying lesions in the cervical canal, and pathological examination showed fibroepithelial cervical polyps.

3. Treatment principles

Cervical polyps are benign gynecological diseases with a low chance of malignant transformation, with a malignant transformation rate of only 0.2% to 0.4%. They can be treated by polypectomy, but timely attention must be paid to chronic inflammation in the cervix and it must be eliminated to avoid the recurrence of polyps. Go to the hospital for regular check-ups, with the first check-up 3 months after surgery, and then once every six months and a year. Do a good job in health care during menstruation, postpartum and after miscarriage, strengthen vaginal hygiene, cultivate good living habits, change bedding frequently, etc. Nowadays, the main treatment method is radiofrequency treatment, which can quickly form a scab on the diseased tissue and prevent the spread of eroded tissue. After the patient enters the recovery period, the scab will fall off naturally and new stratified squamous epithelial tissue will be produced, thereby treating cervical polyps.
