Symptoms of poor recovery from cesarean section

For mothers who have undergone cesarean section, physical recovery is very important, because cesarean section will leave scars on the mother's uterus and skin surface. If you do not pay attention to physical recovery after cesarean section, it is easy to leave sequelae. However, there are also many women who have left many problems after a caesarean section because they did not pay attention to physical recovery. So what are the specific characteristics of poor recovery from caesarean section?

Whether the postpartum uterus has recovered well can be judged by the following two surface indicators: First, touch the uterus. Just after giving birth, women need to check the fundus of the uterus, which can be felt from the navel. If the recovery is good, the uterus will not be able to be felt in about two weeks, unless there is a uterine fibroid. Secondly, you can observe the color of the lochia. After delivery, women should carefully observe the color of lochia to see if it changes in the order of bright red, dark red, dark black, light red, and colorless. If any abnormality is found, they should go to the hospital for examination in time.

We all know the importance of uterine recovery, but have you ever heard of "incomplete uterine recovery"? This is indeed a common postpartum disease that few people pay attention to. Incomplete uterine recovery actually means that the uterus does not return to its pre-pregnancy state after giving birth. Generally speaking, after delivery, the uterus will gradually shrink, the placental separation surface in the uterine cavity will gradually become smaller, and new uterine membrane tissue will regenerate. It will generally return to a state close to that before pregnancy in 2 months. If the expected recovery effect is not achieved, it means that the uterus has not recovered completely.

Next, let’s look at the characteristics of incomplete uterine recovery. First, some mothers will experience lower back pain and a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen after giving birth, often with loose bloody lochia, and some even have heavy bleeding. Second, mothers find that the amount of vaginal discharge increases and turns yellow after giving birth. The uterus is tilted retroverted. Third, after a period of time, the mother will feel tenderness when pressing the uterus. The uterus is large and soft. This condition needs to be treated promptly, otherwise it will lead to permanent lesions, hyperplasia of uterine tissue, or enlargement of the uterus.

So, if the uterus does not recover completely, what should the mother do? The mother should pay attention to the following points. First of all, whether it is at night or when resting in bed during the day, pay attention to changing the resting posture and do not maintain a posture for a long time to prevent the uterus from tilting backwards. Then you must insist on uninterrupted breastfeeding. The baby's sucking on the breast will help speed up the recovery of the uterus. You can consult a doctor and take some medicine to help the uterus recover. Promote uterine contraction and accelerate the discharge of lochia. If the uterus is found to have a tendency to tilt backwards, the mother can try to correct the malposition of the fetus by lying on the chest and knees and correct the backward tilt of the uterus, once in the morning and evening, each time for 15 minutes.
