How long will it take for the spotting to stop during early pregnancy?

Many pregnant women will feel very panicked when they see spotting in the early stages of pregnancy, and they are always afraid that they may have threatened miscarriage. In fact, excessive tension is also an important cause of threatened miscarriage. Pregnant women should still get a good rest when this happens, so that their emotions will not fluctuate too much. They should also take some drugs that have a fetal-stabilizing effect.

Threatened abortion refers to a small amount of vaginal bleeding before 28 weeks of pregnancy, followed by paroxysmal lower abdominal pain or back pain. Pelvic examination shows that the cervix is not dilated, the fetal membranes are intact, no products of pregnancy are expelled, and the size of the uterus is consistent with the gestational age. If symptoms worsen, miscarriage may become inevitable.

Termination of pregnancy before 28 weeks is called miscarriage. If the pregnancy ends naturally before 12 weeks, it is called early miscarriage, and if the pregnancy ends naturally between 13 and 27 weeks, it is called late miscarriage. According to statistics from different regions, different classes and different ages, the incidence of spontaneous abortion is between 15% and 40%. About 75% occur before 16 weeks of pregnancy, and 62% occur before 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Abortion goes through a series of processes from its beginning to its end. According to its different stages, it can be given different diagnostic names, namely: threatened abortion, inevitable abortion, incomplete abortion, complete abortion, and missed abortion.

If vaginal bleeding stops, abdominal pain disappears, and B-ultrasound confirms that the embryo is alive, the pregnancy can continue. If the clinical symptoms worsen, B-ultrasound reveals that the embryo is poorly developed, and blood hCG continues to remain unchanged or decreases, it indicates that miscarriage is inevitable and the pregnancy should be terminated. During the early stages of pregnancy, you should pay attention to rest and avoid excessive fatigue. You should avoid sexual intercourse during the first three months of pregnancy and try to avoid contact with toxic and harmful physical and chemical substances in order to avoid the occurrence of threatened abortion.

1. Pay attention to fatigue

It is generally hoped that expectant mothers do not engage in too much activity in the first three months of pregnancy, as it may cause threatened miscarriage. If vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, etc. occur, these are warning signs of threatened miscarriage and you need to seek medical attention as soon as possible. In addition, this situation may be caused by being too tired or doing too much activity, and the expectant mother also needs to rest in bed more.

2. Use of drugs

The first three months of pregnancy are the critical period for the development of the fetus's central nervous system. Therefore, you should be particularly careful when using medications and inform your doctor that you are pregnant when seeing a doctor.

3. Avoid radiation

During the first three months of pregnancy, activities should be limited to the minimum possible effect on the fetal nervous system development. Therefore, if X-rays are necessary, doctors should be asked to prescribe the lowest dose.

When irradiating, remember to cover your stomach with a protective shield.

4. Balanced Diet

During pregnancy, you need to consume a balanced diet of the six major food groups. If the expectant mother has anemia, she can take iron supplements after diagnosis by a doctor. In the first three months of pregnancy, morning sickness is severe due to hormonal changes, and vitamin B6 can be taken to alleviate the symptoms.
