Why is the woman panicking?

Women may feel anxious because they are experiencing troubles or have done something wrong, or it may be caused by poor work and rest schedule or menopause. Therefore, when women feel anxious, we should relax our minds, go out for appropriate activities, and communicate more with friends, so as to reduce the panic. For methods to relieve women’s panic, we can refer to the contents introduced in this article.

1. How to treat women's palpitations and panic

Currently, the commonly used method for treating menopausal palpitations and panic is hormone replacement therapy, which mainly supplements estrogen externally to treat low hormone levels in menopausal women. It can relieve and improve symptoms, but at the same time, this hormone therapy also has certain limitations. There are still many controversies about its possible adverse reactions. It should be used according to individual circumstances during treatment.

In addition, palpitations and restlessness in menopausal women can also be treated through diet therapy. They should eat the following foods regularly: longan, red dates, sour jujube kernels, water chestnuts, pine nuts, lilies, lotus seeds, American ginseng, hawthorn, cinnamon, oyster meat, wheat, grapes, kumquats, bitter melon, jellyfish, black fungus, white fungus, and poria cocos.

The symptoms of palpitations and anxiety in menopausal women are similar to those of coronary heart disease, so they should be checked and excluded. It is recommended that menopausal women who experience palpitations and anxiety should go to a regular hospital for timely examination, and not be too nervous or self-diagnose or take medication.

2. Which acupoints should be massaged for palpitations?

1. Push the Tanzhong point with your fingers

Location: On the midline of the chest, at the intersection of the line connecting the two nipples and the midline of the sternum.

Massage method: Lie on your back and use your thumb to push the Shanzhong point from bottom to top for about 2 minutes, until the swelling and numbness spread to the chest.

2. Press and rub Jueyinshu

Location: On the inner side of the scapula, 2 finger widths lateral to the spinous process of the 4th thoracic vertebra.

Massage method: The person being massaged sits or lies prone, and the massager uses the thumbs of both hands to massage the Jueyinshu point in a clockwise direction for about 2 minutes, then massages in a counterclockwise direction for 2 minutes, until the local area becomes warm.

3. Press and rub the Xinshu point

Location: On the inner side of the shoulder blade, 2 finger widths away from the spinous process of the 5th thoracic vertebra.

Massage method: The person being massaged lies prone, and the massager stands beside him/her. Use the thumbs of both hands to massage the Xinshu point in clockwise and counterclockwise directions for 2 minutes each. It is best if the person feels soreness, swelling and warmth locally.

4. Pinching the Shenmen acupoint

Position: Palm facing up, on the transverse wrist line on the little finger side of the wrist joint.

Massage method: The masseur pinches the Shenmen acupoint of the person being massaged with the thumb of one hand for about 1 minute until soreness and swelling are felt, alternating between the left and right hands.

3. Causes of panic

Causes of palpitations include: tachycardia, bradycardia, arrhythmia, etc. The most common is tachycardia, among which sinus tachycardia is the most common. If the heart rate of the elderly is too fast, it is easy to cause angina attacks; for ordinary people, it can cause decreased heart function over time. Common causes of sinus tachycardia include the following:

Exercise: Especially intense exercise can cause tachycardia, but the condition will recover quickly after resting. It is not pathological and does not require treatment.

Fever: Can cause a rapid heartbeat. For every 1°C increase in body temperature, the heart rate will increase by 10 beats. The main manifestation of autonomic dysfunction is sympathetic nervous system hyperfunction, which is often accompanied by sweating, insomnia, emotional instability, increased blood pressure, etc.

Anemia: People with long-term anemia often suffer from palpitations due to reduced red blood cell and hemoglobin levels and insufficient oxygen in the body.

Fright, fear, and emotional excitement: When the body is exposed to sudden external stimuli, panic may occur.

Hypoxia: When the body is lacking in oxygen, such as when you are at high altitudes, where the air is thin and the oxygen content is low, or when you suffer from chronic lung disease, the heart will have a compensatory reaction, causing the heart rate to accelerate.

Myocarditis: Palpitations (one of the important manifestations of myocarditis) often occur about two weeks after a cold or diarrhea. This is a myocardial disease caused by a virus or the body's immune response.

Hyperthyroidism: This is caused by excessive secretion of thyroid hormones, which leads to vigorous metabolism of the body. Tachycardia is one of the common symptoms of hyperthyroidism, so patients should pay attention to it.

Hypovolemia: Due to various reasons, such as dehydration, blood loss, and shock, effective treatment must be taken for the primary disease. In addition, replenishing body fluids, blood transfusions, and increasing blood pressure are also essential first aid measures.

Various organic heart diseases: Common ones include rheumatic heart disease, cor pulmonale, congenital heart disease, anemic heart disease, hyperthyroidism heart disease, etc., especially when heart failure occurs, which is more likely to cause an accelerated heart rate.
