What is the reason for light red menstruation and less amount

We all know that menstrual blood is generally dark red in color, and the amount of menstrual blood is generally not too much. But in many cases, the color and amount of some women's menstrual blood are not so normal. For example, there are blood clots, the blood is black, and there is pain. There are many factors that lead to this phenomenon, both normal and pathological. So, what is the reason for light red menstruation and less amount?

What is the reason for light red menstruation and less amount

1. Uterine hypoplasia. Menstruation is the shedding and bleeding of the endometrium that accompanies changes in the ovarian cycle. If the uterus is underdeveloped, such as a very small or deformed uterus, only a small amount of endometrium will be shed in each physiological cycle, resulting in less menstrual flow. In addition, endometrial lesions caused by endometrial tuberculosis or damage to the endometrium due to curettage or other procedures can also result in scanty menstruation or even amenorrhea.

2. Abnormal hormone secretion. Estrogen can stimulate the proliferation of the female endometrium. If the hormone secretion in the body is abnormal, the proliferation of the endometrium will not reach the required thickness, resulting in less menstrual flow. Excessive dieting, irregular work and rest, bad mood, reproductive system diseases, etc. will affect the female endocrine environment, leading to abnormal hormone secretion and low menstrual volume.

3. Anovulatory menstruation. Women who do not ovulate can also have menstruation, which is medically called "anovulatory menstruation." This is different from normal menstruation and falls into the category of "functional uterine bleeding". This type of menstruation is characterized by irregular timing and very little blood flow.

The reasons why menstrual period is light red are:

1. Qi deficiency: due to postnatal malnutrition, or depletion due to overwork, or long-term illness, symptoms such as physical weakness, pale complexion, shortness of breath, limb fatigue, dizziness, sweating when moving, light-colored menstruation, and heavy menstruation may occur;

2. Blood deficiency: caused by improper diet, overwork, emotional frustration, excessive blood loss, long-term illness, etc., symptoms such as pale or sallow complexion, dizziness, palpitations, frequent dreams, numbness of hands and feet, scanty menstruation, pale color, late menstruation or amenorrhea may occur;

3. Spleen deficiency: It is often caused by eating disorders, improper work and rest, or long-term illness and physical weakness. Symptoms may include limb fatigue, fatigue, lack of energy, laziness, weight loss, obesity and edema, and scanty menstruation.

4. Kidney deficiency: due to congenital deficiency of kidney qi and kidney essence, or damage caused by excessive sexual intercourse, excessive births, artificial abortions, etc., symptoms may include frequent urination, forgetfulness and insomnia, fatigue intolerance, soreness of waist and knees, light menstruation, scanty menstruation or amenorrhea;

5. Phlegm and dampness: Living in a humid environment all year round, such as a humid climate, rain, etc., moisture will invade the human body and cause illness, which may cause chest tightness, excessive phlegm, drowsiness, joint pain, skin numbness, edema of the limbs, frequent and unformed bowel movements, etc.
