Will dysmenorrhea get better after marriage?

Many women usually suffer from dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea can occur at any age. Dysmenorrhea has a great impact on women's physical health and daily life. If dysmenorrhea is severe, it needs to be actively treated. Dysmenorrhea may cause other diseases. Some people think that unmarried women with dysmenorrhea will get better after marriage. Is this true?

Will dysmenorrhea get better after marriage?

Some people's dysmenorrhea will be relieved after marriage, but this is not the case for everyone. You should go to the hospital for a check-up.

There are two types of dysmenorrhea: primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea.

Primary dysmenorrhea refers to dysmenorrhea without organic lesions in the reproductive organs, accounting for more than 90% of dysmenorrhea;

Secondary dysmenorrhea refers to dysmenorrhea caused by organic pelvic diseases. The pain often occurs some time after the start of menstruation and tends to worsen. Married women mostly suffer from secondary dysmenorrhea.

Primary dysmenorrhea is more common in adolescence, usually starting from menarche. Some are related to the angle of the uterus, such as excessive anteversion or retroversion of the uterus; others are caused by too narrow menstrual blood channels or excessive contraction of local uterine smooth muscles. In this case, the condition will improve after the girl grows up, gets married and has children.

Secondary dysmenorrhea mostly occurs in married women and is mostly caused by gynecological diseases. If the root cause is not removed, it cannot be cured by giving birth. There are even new mothers who did not suffer from dysmenorrhea before pregnancy, but after giving birth, due to improper care, they contracted gynecological diseases, which then caused secondary dysmenorrhea. If this happens, mothers must seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Why don't you have dysmenorrhea after marriage?

Caused by small hymen opening

Because a few women have a small hymen before marriage, they experience dysmenorrhea due to poor menstruation during menstruation. When a woman gets married and has sexual intercourse, the opening of the hymen will become larger and the symptoms of dysmenorrhea will be alleviated or even disappear. As a result, dysmenorrhea will no longer hurt after marriage.

Abnormally narrow hymen opening

Even if some women have sexual intercourse after marriage, dysmenorrhea cannot completely disappear due to the abnormally narrow opening of the hymen. The dysmenorrhea will only disappear after pregnancy and childbirth. This is because childbirth causes greater damage to the virginity, leaving only a mark on the hymen. At this time, menstrual blood flows more smoothly and dysmenorrhea disappears in some women.

Factors that increase uterine size

Before marriage, the uterus is smaller and due to the influence of prostaglandins in the human body, the uterus contracts, leading to dysmenorrhea. Most of the time, women who no longer experience dysmenorrhea after marriage are women with primary dysmenorrhea. Because after marriage and childbirth, women's vagina and uterus will expand. In this way, menstrual blood and exfoliated endometrium can be discharged smoothly from the body. Even if affected by the body's prostaglandins, uterine contractions will not be as difficult as during a woman's menarche, causing dysmenorrhea.

Uterine ectopic factors

For some women with uterine ectopicness, dysmenorrhea will often occur due to the abnormal position of the uterus before marriage and pregnancy. After marriage and pregnancy, the uterus may move from the abnormal position to the normal position. At this time, when menstruation comes again, dysmenorrhea will not be caused by the incorrect position of the uterus.
