What are gynecological bacteria?

Many women suffer from gynecological diseases, which specifically refer to a disease of the female reproductive organs. Because there are many causes of gynecological diseases, most of them are due to infection by some bacteria, gynecological bacteria is the most common cause. Gynecological bacteria are a type of bacteria that grow in the female vagina. They can bring many adverse effects to women and people need to know more about them. Here we will introduce in detail what gynecological bacteria are.

What are gynecological bacteria?

Bacterial vaginitis is a type of female vaginitis. Under normal circumstances, vaginal lactobacilli are dominant in the vagina, with a small amount of anaerobic bacteria, mycoplasma and Candida albicans. These bacteria form a normal ecological balance. However, when the human body's immunity is low, endocrine hormones change, or external factors such as tissue damage and sexual intercourse disrupt the ecological balance of the vagina, these resident bacteria will become pathogenic bacteria, break through the vaginal barrier and cause infection.

It causes vaginal inflammation, which is the main cause of vaginitis in women. Due to estrogen deficiency, young girls and postmenopausal women have thin vaginal epithelium, reduced intracellular glycogen content, and vaginal pH as high as around 7. Therefore, the vaginal resistance is low. If bacteria invade at this time, it will cause bacterial vaginitis.

Controversy over the name of bacterial vaginitis

There is no such thing as bacterial vaginitis in the formal medical classification of vaginitis, but it is often mentioned, and some hospitals even give this informal diagnosis of bacterial vaginitis. Why? 1. Some people call bacterial vaginitis bacterial vaginosis, mainly because the female urethra, vagina and anus are close to each other and are often stimulated by menstrual blood, vaginal secretions, urine and feces. If you do not pay attention to skin cleanliness, it is easy to cause inflammation of the vulva and vagina. 2. Some local hospitals also call the so-called miscellaneous bacteria as none of the above except Trichomonas, fungi and bacterial vaginosis. They are just some white blood cell infections, and the cleanliness is not good. If it reaches the third or fourth degree, it may be the so-called bacterial vaginitis. 3. Some people also refer to vaginitis caused by bacterial or pathogen infection as bacterial vaginitis. Therefore, bacterial vaginitis is not a formal diagnosis and can be listed as a synonym for vaginitis.

How does vaginitis cause female infertility?

1. Vaginal infertility caused by pathogen infection. Some vaginitis may be caused by infection with other pathogens. For example, ureaplasma urealyticum, Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma genitalium, etc. may cause vaginal infection. This infection will not only cause infertility, but it is also likely to cause fetal arrest, miscarriage, and stillbirth. Therefore, if you plan to get pregnant, you should conduct a careful examination to rule out the many factors that may lead to infertility. 2. Changes in the vaginal environment lead to infertility. The vagina is a receptor for sexual intercourse and semen. Under normal circumstances, the vagina has a relatively safe environment with a relatively constant acidity and alkalinity. When certain organic or functional diseases of the vulva and vagina occur, changes in the vaginal environment affect the function of normal sperm, leading to infertility. This environment, which is suitable for the temporary retention and passage of sperm, is very important. Once this environment is destroyed, infertility is likely to occur.
