When is the safe period?

A woman's month is divided into different stages, including the menstrual period, safe period, ovulation period, and luteal phase. Mastering these stages can effectively avoid pregnancy and also help prepare for pregnancy. The probability of pregnancy during the safe period is very low, but the safe period is not necessarily absolutely safe. Many women do not even know how to calculate their safe period. So when is the safe period?

The so-called physiological safety period is a period of time in a woman's menstrual cycle. During this period, if you have sexual intercourse without taking any contraceptive measures, you will basically not get pregnant.

When is the safe period and how to determine it

1. The seven days before menstruation and the eight days after menstruation are basically safe. The total of 15 days is the safe period.

2. Calculation of safe period: The day of female ovulation is counted back 14 days from the first day of menstruation. The first 4 days and the last 5 days of the 14th day are the dangerous period. The rest of the day is the safe period. For example, a woman's menstrual cycle is 28 days, and the first day of this menstruation is December 2nd. Then the next menstruation will be on December 30th (December 2nd plus 28 days). Subtract 14 days from December 30th, and December 16th is the ovulation day. The ovulation day and the 5 days before and 4 days after it, that is, December 11-20, is the ovulation period. Except for the menstrual period and ovulation period, the rest of the time is the safe period. The safe period is not completely "safe", and contraceptive drugs or tools should be used as much as possible during sexual intercourse during the safe period.

3. The possibility of pregnancy during the safe period is very small, only about 1-5% (that is, the probability of not getting pregnant is 95%-99%). The accidental pregnancy rate of most contraceptives is 10% (that is, the probability of not getting pregnant is 90%).

Having sex during menstruation will not cause pregnancy. Having sex during menstruation can easily cause menstrual irregularities, gynecological inflammation, and may also lead to infertility, so it is not recommended to have sex during menstruation. The three days before menstruation and the three days after menstruation are safe periods. You will not get pregnant if you have sex during the safe period. The dangerous period is the ovulation period, which is the period between two menstruations. There is a dangerous period of about ten days.
