How to help with a normal birth

How to help with a normal birth

Natural birth is the preferred method of delivery for many women, but everyone's physical condition is different, so the situation of natural birth will naturally be different. If you want a better natural birth, you must make preparations in advance, such as going to the hospital regularly to check the fetal position in order to adjust the fetal position and facilitate natural birth. At the same time, you must always pay attention to the mother's emotions and adjust your mentality to avoid affecting natural birth.

Methods/Steps

Learn how to breathe

Correct breathing methods can speed up the delivery process. It sounds very simple, but it is very effective. Correct breathing methods can allow the uterus to get enough oxygen and make uterine contractions more effective.

The breathing method during childbirth is different from the automatic breathing in your daily life that you don’t feel. You need to practice how to expand your chest cavity. This practice needs to be done almost every day during the late stages of pregnancy. Attend a childbirth class at your hospital or community family planning committee, and then have your husband follow your daily practice.

Relax

If you are nervous, you will automatically hold your breath, which will block the oxygen supply to the uterus, increase pain, and reduce the efficiency of uterine contractions. If you feel scared, your body will also secrete adrenaline, which can delay labor.

So relaxation is very important to reduce pain and speed up the delivery process. Methods of relaxation include breathing, relaxation, imagination, etc. If the environment at home makes you relax, you should try to stay at home longer after the start of delivery. In the late pregnancy, you should ask your obstetrician about the progress and precautions of delivery, and try to go to the hospital when delivery really enters the critical moment to avoid the tension and anxiety caused by premature hospitalization.

Keep the baby in the normal position in the womb

Before normal delivery, the baby's position in the womb should be head down, facing the mother, and slightly tilted to the left.

This position makes it easiest for the baby to descend into the birth canal. But some babies are not like this. The way to correct a bad fetal position or guide a good fetal position is to sit astride a chair with the upper body lying on the back of the chair, or with hands and feet on the ground, in a crawling posture, and maintain it for 20-30 minutes a day. You should practice in a comfortable place and don't exert force on your waist. It is best to sleep on your left side during late pregnancy.

Choose the environment that suits you best

The environment has a huge impact on childbirth, and only by relaxing can childbirth go smoothly.

Once you have decided to give birth in a hospital, you should visit several hospitals during your pregnancy, talk to doctors, learn about the environment there, and choose a hospital that you like and that you think is the safest and most caring to give birth to your baby.

Precautions

Activities and upright postures such as standing, kneeling, and sitting can speed up delivery. More activity can improve circulation, allowing more blood to flow to the uterus and promoting uterine contractions.

It is very important to do a good job of prenatal examination and deal with problems in a timely manner when they are discovered. Let your baby grow better and healthier.
