What to do if you have bloating during 5 months of pregnancy

It is normal to experience stomach bloating during the 5th month of pregnancy, because the appetite of pregnant women will increase during pregnancy, which may cause stomach bloating due to eating too much. When stomach bloating occurs during pregnancy, we can relieve the symptoms by eating smaller meals more frequently, drinking more water, eating more vegetables, etc. Also, walking around every day can promote gastrointestinal digestion and help with future delivery. Therefore, pregnant women should understand the precautions during pregnancy.

1. There are many reasons for abdominal distension during pregnancy. In the early stages of pregnancy, the production of progesterone will relax the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and weaken the peristalsis, making it easy for the acidic gastric contents to reflux to the lower esophagus. In addition, the time for gastric emptying is prolonged. When food stays in the intestines for a longer time, it will spoil and ferment under the action of bacteria, which will produce a large amount of gas, causing pregnant women to feel full.

2. As the fetus continues to grow, the burden on the expectant mother's abdomen and body gradually increases, and the frequency of abdominal pain will increase significantly compared to the early pregnancy. As the baby grows, the expectant mother's uterus also gradually expands. The enlarged uterus constantly stimulates the lower edge of the ribs, which can cause dull rib pain in expectant mothers. Generally speaking, this is physiological and does not require special treatment. Lying on the left side can help relieve pain.

3. Expectant mothers are more likely to experience abdominal distension due to decreased gastrointestinal function during pregnancy. If you feel bloated after eating too much, it is recommended that you eat small meals frequently. As long as your stomach does not hurt, it will be fine. This is usually the case during pregnancy. Just don't eat too much and keep up with the nutrition and calcium, which is good for the baby. You can eat some apples, which will help with digestion and is also good for the baby's skin. Just walk around and drink some water.

4. If the expectant mother suddenly feels persistent severe pain in the lower abdomen, it may be premature birth or signs of uterine rupture. You should go to the hospital for treatment in time and do not delay.
