Normally, the menstrual period should be about three to five days. Some people have a lot of blood, so it may take up to seven days to finish. Therefore, as long as the menstrual period lasts more than three days but less than seven days, it is normal. However, some people may have a period that is not completely over. They bleed every day, but the amount of blood is not much. It may last for half a month or even a month. So why is the menstrual period not completely over? If the menstrual period is not clean and has not stopped for more than 9 days, it is clinically caused by the following reasons: 1. It is caused by endocrine disorders. Due to insufficient estrogen, the endometrium cannot be repaired as soon as possible, which leads to prolonged menstruation. Clinically, there is no lower abdominal pain except for irregular menstruation. 2. Endometrial lesions, such as atypical endometrial hyperplasia, excessive endometrial hyperplasia, endometrial cancer or endometrial inflammation, may lead to continuous menstruation. In this case, a B-ultrasound examination will reveal abnormal thickening of the endometrium or uneven echoes. If necessary, a diagnostic curettage can be performed. 3. Submucosal uterine fibroids, endometriosis or pelvic tumors may cause prolonged menstruation. A routine blood test and B-ultrasound examination can be done clinically. If necessary, a blood test for six sex hormones should be done. If the endometrium shows abnormal thickening, uneven echoes or abnormal echo masses, a diagnostic curettage should be performed. Under normal circumstances, menstruation occurs every 30 days, and it is normal for it to be early or late within a week. If it is not clean after more than 7 days, it is abnormal. It is not a big problem if it happens occasionally, but if it happens frequently, you must go to the hospital for corresponding examinations. First, do a color ultrasound to check whether there are any problems with the uterus and ovaries, and whether there are any organic diseases. If it is always unclean and there is often a tail, which can last up to 8-10 days, it is common in submucosal fibroids or endometrial polyps. If you have these two situations, you can undergo endometrial polyp removal or submucosal myoma surgery, and you will be able to return to normal after the surgery. In addition, problems with the cervix cannot be ruled out. If there are polyps on the cervix or precancerous lesions of the cervix, you must go to the hospital for cervical cancer screening, and then receive symptomatic treatment based on the test results. At the same time, endocrine disorders can also cause this kind of menstrual irregularities, and at this time you must receive symptomatic treatment based on the endocrine test results. |
