Pregnant women's early antenatal check-up

Pregnant women's early antenatal check-up

When a woman is pregnant, she will surely pay special attention to her physical condition. After all, her physical health is closely related to the physical health of the fetus. Therefore, people will frequently check their bodies through various examination methods. The early stages of pregnancy are a very important time period for examinations. There are also many things to check in the early stages of pregnancy. So what are the things to check in the early stages of pregnancy?

What to check in early pregnancy

1. Gynecological speculum examination. Understand the condition of the vagina and cervix, rule out abnormal development of the pregnant woman's reproductive organs, and provide a channel for the baby to be born smoothly.

2. Leucorrhea examination. Find out whether there are Trichomonas or fungi in the vagina, and if necessary, conduct chlamydia, mycoplasma, and gonococcal tests.

3. Cervical smear examination. The main purpose is to understand the morphology of cervical epithelial cells and rule out the occurrence of cervical tumors.

4. Gynecological triple examination. The main purpose is to understand whether the size of the uterus is consistent with the month of menopause and whether the embryo is developing normally.

5. Ultrasonic examination. Ultrasound examinations are performed 40 and 60 days after menstruation to understand the implantation site of the embryo sac and the development of the embryo.

6. Other inspections. Choose according to your own situation. If you suffer from heart, liver, kidney, thyroid disease, etc., you need to consult an internist to find out whether continuing the pregnancy will increase the risk.

Mid-pregnancy check-up (week 13 to week 27). The initial check-up is done between 13 and 16 weeks, and monthly check-ups are conducted after 16 weeks. The main purpose is to understand the growth and development of the fetus, and to screen for malformations (i.e. Down syndrome) and special diseases such as diabetes, hepatitis B, syphilis, AIDS, etc. Necessary examinations include: blood pressure, uterine height, abdominal circumference, fetal heart rate, blood routine, urine routine, electrocardiogram, B-ultrasound, etc. In addition, fetal movements will appear after 3 months of pregnancy. It is recommended to start recording after 28 weeks. If the fetal movement slows down or disappears, go to the hospital for examination in time.

What should you pay attention to during early pregnancy check-up?

First, the time of the first prenatal check-up should be clear. Generally, the first prenatal check-up will be done around three months into the pregnancy.

Second, you should be clear about the number of prenatal checkups in the middle and late stages of pregnancy.

When a pregnant woman reaches the second trimester of pregnancy, prenatal check-ups need to be conducted once a month. This is usually between 12 and 28 weeks of pregnancy. After 28 weeks, you only need to do it every 2 weeks.

Third, family medical history must be clearly explained.

During the prenatal check-up, if the expectant father or mother has a family medical history, he or she must not hide it from the doctor, otherwise it will affect the health of the child.

Pregnant mothers may not know what the prenatal check-up items are, after all, there will be medical staff to arrange them when they arrive at the hospital, but at least they must remember them clearly during the prenatal check-up. If you are afraid of forgetting, you can write it down in the form of notes or memos. Of course, you can also ask our future father to help remember it.
