Pelvic inflammatory disease is a common gynecological disease among women. It mainly refers to the inflammation of the tissues in the pelvic area, which is prone to fluid accumulation. If not treated well, chronic inflammatory changes are likely to occur, which is a great hazard to women's health and is an important cause of female infertility. It can easily cause a variety of symptoms in women. Let’s learn about this aspect below.
1. When acute inflammation becomes chronic inflammation, scar adhesion and pelvic congestion will appear. It causes distension and pain in the lower abdomen and soreness in the lumbar region. It usually occurs after exertion, sexual intercourse, or before or after menstruation. 2. When the disease occurs, lower abdominal pain will occur, as well as fever and chills. If peritonitis also occurs, abdominal distension, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting will occur. 3. Because of pelvic congestion, there will be symptoms of increased menstruation. If the ovarian function is damaged, menstrual disorders may occur. If adhesions and blockages occur in the fallopian tubes, female infertility may occur. 4. When an abscess is formed, there will be symptoms of a mass in the lower abdomen or local compression and irritation. The patient will show acute illness, with tension in the lower abdominal muscles, increased body temperature, increased heart rate, abdominal distension, tenderness and rebound pain. 5. Most of the systemic symptoms are not obvious. Sometimes a low fever may occur and fatigue may occur easily. If the illness lasts for a long time, there will be symptoms of neurasthenia, such as lack of energy, general discomfort, insomnia, etc. If the patient's resistance is relatively poor, acute and subacute attacks will easily occur.
▲Not paying attention to hygiene during menstruation: During menstruation, the endometrium is shed, the blood sinuses in the uterine cavity open, and blood clots are present, which are good conditions for bacterial growth. If you do not pay attention to hygiene during menstruation, use sanitary napkins or toilet paper that do not meet hygiene standards, or have sexual intercourse, it will cause pelvic inflammatory disease.
The most common is appendicitis, peritonitis attacks, because they are adjacent to the female reproductive organs, the inflammation can spread directly, causing pelvic inflammation; in chronic cervicitis, the inflammation can also cause pelvic connective tissue inflammation through the lymphatic circulation. ▲ Postpartum or post-abortion infection: After delivery, the mother is weak, the cervix fails to close in time due to the outflow of residual blood and turbid fluid, there is a placental detachment surface in the uterine cavity, or the birth canal is damaged during delivery, or there are residual placenta and fetal membranes, or if she has sexual intercourse too early after delivery, pathogens take advantage of the opportunity to invade the uterine cavity and easily cause infection; vaginal bleeding lasts too long during spontaneous abortion or medical abortion, or there is tissue residue in the uterine cavity, or the aseptic operation of the artificial abortion operation is not strict, etc., all of which can cause post-abortion infection. |
