We all know that when a woman's ovarian follicle grows to a certain size, it will rupture and produce eggs, which will then be discharged from the woman's body. Therefore, by monitoring the size of the follicles, it is also possible to effectively infer the time when an egg is released from a woman's body. However, many women also have the problem of enlarged ovarian follicles that are not discharged, which endangers women's ability to conceive. So what are the causes of enlarged ovarian follicles that are not discharged? Clinically, it is concluded that the following are the reasons why women’s follicles are too large and cannot be discharged: 1. Endocrine dysfunction of the central nervous system. Women's ovarian ovulation is a very complex physiological process, and it can only be completed by the normal coordinated action of multiple systems and multiple hormones. If the central endocrine system is disturbed, it will lead to insufficient secretion of luteinizing hormone in the body, which will not stimulate the rupture and digestion of the follicle wall, resulting in the follicle being too large and not discharged. 2. Local lesions occur. When a woman suffers from salpingitis or endometriosis, it can also cause the follicles to become too large and not ovulate. If fallopian tube inflammation occurs, the patient's fallopian tube will undergo pathological changes such as fibrosis and thickening, and may even adhere to local tissues, thereby forming lumps of varying degrees. In severe cases, it will affect ovarian function and hinder ovulation. 3. Insufficient prostaglandins or enzyme deficiency. Studies have found that the enlarged follicles in the female ovaries will gradually approach the ovarian cortical tissue. At the same time, the prostaglandins and secretions such as activated collagenase and fibrinolysozyme will act on the basement membrane tissue of the follicle wall, digesting the follicle wall and leading to the formation of the ovulation hole. If there is a lack of prostaglandins and activated collagenase at this time, the follicles will become too large and not ovulated. 4. Hyperprolactinemia. High levels of prolactin can cause abnormal gonadotropin secretion by the female pituitary gland, causing ovarian dysfunction and failure of follicle development. In addition to the above factors that can cause the follicles to be too large and not ovulated, some women may also experience repeated small peaks in blood prolactin levels due to stressful mental states such as work pressure, excessive mental tension, and mood swings, thus affecting ovulation function. Therefore, when ovulation function is abnormal, you should also pay attention to adjusting your mental state. |
