Why does a woman's butt hurt?

It is normal for women to have buttock pain, especially for white-collar workers who sit for a long time. It will cause the nerves in the buttocks to be compressed, resulting in poor blood circulation in the buttocks, thus causing buttock pain. However, buttock pain may also be caused by sciatica and lumbar disc herniation. Everyone should understand the symptoms of these diseases and then determine what causes the buttock pain.

Sciatica caused by incorrect sitting posture

Far from being just a “pain in the butt,” it was actually sciatica. Nowadays, there are many female white-collar workers in cities. Due to long periods of sitting and incorrect sitting posture, coupled with long-term wearing of high heels, sciatica has become an "office disease". "But less than one-fifth of people realize the seriousness of the problem and seek medical treatment on their own initiative.

Lumbar and back muscle injury leading to disc herniation

Sciatica among modern urban female white-collar workers is mostly related to their careers. In a normal human spine, the waist bulges forward, while the sacrum (coccyx) bulges backward, thus forming a normal physiological curvature. However, most of our office chairs have straight backs, and working postures such as stretching our hands forward when using a computer and bending over a desk increase the burden on the spine.

Not only that, some female white-collar workers often wear high heels, which causes the center of gravity of the human body to lean forward and the mechanics of the spine to change, resulting in compression and wear on the lumbar intervertebral disc, leading to disc herniation, pressing on the sciatic nerve, and thus causing the severe pain that occurs from time to time.

In addition to sitting posture and high heels, some minor injuries that are not taken seriously in daily life may leave sequelae of intervertebral discs.

Butt pain is actually sciatica. Trauma is actually the most common cause of disc herniation and sciatic nerve compression. However, the pain from some trauma may be very short-lived and pass after a while, and when the pain is relieved, patients often do not pay enough attention to it, thinking that "it will heal naturally once the pain stops."

But in fact, at this time the body's waist and back muscles may have been damaged, the protective function of the vertebrae has been destroyed, causing uneven force on the vertebrae, and over time the intervertebral disc will slowly protrude. "However, some early lumbar disc herniations do not manifest as low back pain, but buttocks pain, followed by radiating pain in the lower limbs and numbness in the lower limbs. By the time a limp occurs when walking, the disc herniation has gradually formed." Therefore, once you experience buttocks pain and a history of trauma, do not take it lightly and go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible.

Muscle frostbite is prone to pseudosciatica

The pain of sciatica starts from the lower back and goes directly to the ankle, while the pain in the buttocks caused by pseudo-sciatica is most painful in the buttocks without any pain in the lower back, and there is a sense of tenderness. Not only that, pseudosciatica is completely caused by "freezing". The gluteus minimus muscle in the buttocks swells after being frozen, compressing the sciatic nerve and causing pain.
