Urinary tract infection after sex with husband

Urinary tract infection after sex with husband

If a urinary tract infection occurs after having sex with your significant other, you should abstain from sex for a period of time. At this time, both husband and wife should cooperate with the treatment to prevent recurrence of infection during subsequent sex. In the second stage, you should also pay attention to the cleanliness of your vulva. You need to wash your vulva at least once a day and change your underwear frequently to ensure absolute hygiene.

1. Keep the vulva clean.

(1) The diaper of a baby girl should be changed promptly after urinating or defecating, and the perineum and buttocks should be washed. The diaper used must be clean. Children over 1 year old, regardless of gender, should wear crotch-covering pants and avoid sitting on the ground to avoid vulvar and urethral infections.

(2) Adults should wash their vulva once a day, change their underwear frequently, and wipe their anus after defecation, from front to back, to avoid bringing anal dirt into the urethra.

(3) Sit-baths are prohibited. If you sit in the bathtub to take a bath, the dirty water can easily seep into the urethra and cause infection. Because the female urethra is short and wide, and the urethral opening is close to the vagina and anus, special attention should be paid.

2. Pay attention to sexual hygiene. The cause of urinary tract infection is poor sexual hygiene habits. The bacteria in the vulva, vagina, or urethra of one man or woman can be easily transmitted to the other, and it is also easy for them to get infected themselves. Therefore, the external genitalia should be cleaned before sexual intercourse. If contraceptive devices are used, they should be cleaned or disinfected. You should urinate once before and after sexual intercourse. In addition, quit masturbation, especially masturbation with objects, to prevent urinary tract infections and injuries.

3. Prevent urine from being full.

(1) When you feel the urge to urinate, urinate immediately and do not hold it in. Empty your bladder before going to bed every night.

(2) Women who are more than 5 months pregnant should sleep on their left or right side to prevent the uterus from compressing the ureter and causing poor urinary flow.

(3) Actively treat diseases that cause urinary tract obstruction, such as urinary stones, tumors, prostatic hyperplasia, phimosis, renal ptosis, scar stenosis, and congenital malformations of the urinary system.

4. Eliminate invading germs.

(1) Actively treat infectious diseases, such as tonsillitis, skin swelling or traumatic infection, cholecystitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, appendicitis, prostatitis, dental caries infection, sinusitis, etc. Adequate medication should be used to thoroughly clean the area to prevent bacteria from entering the urinary system through the blood and lymphatic channels, and to kill bacteria that have already invaded the urinary tract.

(2) Drink plenty of water to increase urine volume so that urine can continuously flush the urinary tract, expel bacteria and toxins as quickly as possible, and keep the urinary tract clean.
