How many years can the ring last?

After a successful IUD surgery, the effect can actually be maintained for a long time, probably more than ten years. During this period, if you have sexual intercourse, you can avoid unwanted pregnancy. It is not 100% effective, but the success rate is higher than other contraceptive methods such as birth control pills and condoms. In addition, it will not cause much harm to the bodies of female friends.

Inert intrauterine contraceptive device: made of stainless steel wire or plastic, silicone, such as metal single ring, twisted ring and stainless steel uterine ring.

Copper intrauterine device: It is the most widely used type of active intrauterine device, which uses the killing effect of copper on sperm or fertilized eggs to enhance the contraceptive effect.

Progestin-releasing intrauterine device: The progestin contained in the intrauterine device is slowly and steadily released into the uterine cavity, which improves the contraceptive effect and can significantly reduce bleeding.

Intrauterine devices that release hemostatic drugs: can effectively control the increase in menstrual volume after intrauterine device placement.

The foreign body effect of the intrauterine contraceptive device can cause asexual inflammation of the endometrium, thereby affecting the implantation of the fertilized egg. In addition to the above functions, the washable intrauterine contraceptive device also releases copper ions, which have a killing effect on sperm and embryos.

The intrauterine device containing progestin can release a small amount of progestin into the uterine cavity for a long time, causing the endometrium to atrophy, which is not conducive to the implantation of the fertilized egg. Both of these effects further enhance the contraceptive effect of the active intrauterine device.

Because the front and back of the vagina are closer together than usual and in a closed state, vaginal contraceptive rings are generally not easy to fall out deep in the vagina. The ring is small in size and is inserted deep in the vagina, so there is no obvious foreign body sensation during intercourse and it has little impact on sexual life, so it is welcomed by most people.

Although the IUD does not interfere with the development and maturation of follicles in the uterine cavity, nor does it completely prevent the combination of sperm and egg, the mechanical and (or) drug release effects of the IUD in the uterine cavity prevent the implantation of the fertilized egg. Through histological, histochemical and biochemical examinations of the endometrium, it is believed that the IUD can change the body fluid environment in the uterine cavity, increase the activity of nucleotidase, acid phosphatase and alkaline phosphatase in the endometrium, and thus affect the growth, development and implantation of the fertilized egg.

Intrauterine contraceptive devices have good contraceptive effects and a long effective period. They can be used by women who have given birth or who have not given birth and are willing to use this method of contraception. Of course, this method of contraception is not 100% safe, and it is common in clinical practice for women to become pregnant while wearing an IUD.

There are many types of IUDs, and the doctor will choose the appropriate model based on the size of the woman's cervix.

It does not inhibit ovulation and does not affect the female endocrine system, thus avoiding the adverse reactions of general contraceptive drugs. It does not cause any serious harm to the body and can be used for long-term contraception.

Does not affect sex life: Many people like to wear condoms when having sex, but they don’t have high sexual interest and it is also very troublesome. It seriously affected the life of the couple.

It will not affect women's fertility: if you want to have a baby, you just need to remove the ring, and it will not cause any impact on your body.
