How to deal with water during menstruation

Every time a group of people get together to go swimming, we always have to consider whether you are on your menstrual period. In fact, there are still many ways to help you, even during your menstrual period, it will not affect your trip with your best friends. In addition, swimming exercise during menstruation can reduce menstrual pain and relieve mood. So, what should I do when I have my period and want to swim?

What should I do if I have my period and want to swim?

1. Use a tampon or menstrual cup before swimming. Although swimming can provide temporary relief from your period, it's not hygienic to swim with a friend without a tampon or menstrual cup. If you use this comfort, it's best to try it at home before swimming.

1. Tampons: If you are already accustomed to using tampons, it would be great, because tampons are most suitable for use when swimming. You don't need to worry about leaks because the tampon will expand appropriately to fit your body. Just tuck the cotton string of the sanitary tampon into your swimsuit bottoms and you can swim comfortably. It works with any style of swimsuit bottoms. If the amount is large, remember to change the tampon every few hours. The maximum time for use is not more than 8 hours.

2. Menstrual cup: Use a menstrual cup. Although menstrual cups are less common than tampons, they work on the same basic principle: the cup is inserted into the vagina, closer to the vulva, to collect menstrual fluid. They can be used continuously for up to 10 hours, which is longer than the 8 hours of tampons. Like tampons, menstrual cups are completely invisible to the body when in use. It absorbs into your body, so there's no need to worry about your period showing through. When using a menstrual cup, you don't have to worry about hiding the tampon string.

3. You should understand that you cannot go swimming with a sanitary pad or a sanitary napkin. They absorb moisture when in water. If you put them inside your swimming trunks, they will become more noticeable as they absorb moisture. In short, it is difficult to drain water even with a sanitary napkin, let alone swimming.

2. Bring some extra tampons and other items as a reserve. If you use a tampon, you may need to change it several times a day. It's best to bring as much as you think you'll need, to avoid having to decide to play the game for too long. If you need to change into your normal clothes and underwear and put back your sanitary napkins after swimming, you should also bring some sanitary napkins.

1. If you use a sanitary tampon on a heavy day, change it every three to four hours.

2. If you are using a menstrual cup, you don’t have to worry about removing it and replacing it. Menstrual cups can be used for up to 12 hours. Of course, it wouldn’t be inconvenient to bring an extra one just in case.

What should I wear when I go swimming during my period?

1. If you feel shy about using tampons, you can wear a pair of shorts outside. Although it's not necessary, if you're worried about the string of your tampon showing or the discomfort of using a tampon, you can wear an extra pair of shorts for extra protection so you don't have to worry too much. You can buy a pair of nice-looking ones that are not too baggy to wear over your swimming trunks. In order to make yourself feel more at ease, you can buy a dark brown one.

2. If you are worried about leakage, you can wear a dark brown swimsuit. Although it's unlikely that your period will show through your swimming trunks if you use tampons and menstrual cups properly, you can still feel more comfortable wearing a dark brown swimsuit. You can choose a nice color, such as dark blue or light purple. Then you can go swimming in the water with ease!

You can also choose swimsuits that get tighter in the bikini area. That way you don't have to worry about the string of the tampon leaking out.
