Reddish vaginal discharge during early pregnancy

Reddish vaginal discharge during early pregnancy

Menstruation does not end all at once but is a process. Menstruation should last about 4 to 5 days, and 5 to 7 days is also normal. However, there is no menstruation in the early stages of pregnancy. Because the uterus needs to nurture the fetus after pregnancy, there will be no endometrial shedding, and there will be no menstruation. If you find that you have secreted some light red secretions, this may be due to some other factors in addition to leucorrhea bleeding.

Causes of increased vaginal discharge during pregnancy

After pregnancy, because the ovaries secrete a large amount of estrogen and progesterone, the blood flow in the vulva, vagina, cervix and other parts accelerates, the tissues contain more water, and the amount of leucorrhea secretion increases accordingly. This is a normal symptom in early pregnancy.

If the pregnant mother's leucorrhea turns yellow or green, becomes sticky like cheese or tofu dregs, and has an unpleasant odor, and there is discomfort in the vagina, such as burning, pain, itching, etc., she should go to the hospital for a gynecological examination in time to avoid infecting the fetus and causing miscarriage.

Types of Leucorrhea

Watery leucorrhea

Leucorrhea that is clear like water, often soaks the underwear, and has a foul odor is often a sign of fallopian tube tumors.

Purulent leucorrhea

Yellow or green pus-like vaginal discharge, general weakness, low fever are signs of acute vaginitis or cervicitis.

Okara-like leucorrhea

The amount of leucorrhea is large, the shape is like tofu dregs, and the vagina is itchy. This type of leucorrhea is mostly caused by vaginal yeast infection or diabetes.

Foamy leucorrhea

Leucorrhea is foamy and profuse, and the vulva and vagina are itchy. This is mostly caused by Trichomonas infection due to unclean bathing.

Colorless paste-like leucorrhea

The leucorrhea is thick and paste-like and the amount is large. Except for lower back pain, the patient has no other symptoms, which is more common in chronic cervicitis.

Prevention of increased leucorrhea during pregnancy

Generally, no special treatment is required. Due to the large amount of leucorrhea secretions, the vulva is often kept moist. In order to prevent infection, pregnant women should pay attention to personal hygiene and take good care of their private parts.

Whether it is the increase of leucorrhea in the early stage of pregnancy or in other periods, the following points need to be done:

1. Wear less tight pants to prevent blood flow obstruction

2. Keep the vulva clean and wash it with warm water 2-3 times a day.

3. To prevent cross infection, special basins and bath towels must be prepared.

4. Change your underwear frequently. Wash your underwear with neutral soap on the same day. Soak it in boiling water for 30 minutes to sterilize it before washing. It is best to dry it in the sun instead of in a dark corner.

5. Strengthen nutrition, enhance immunity, eat more foods rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals, such as lean meat, eggs, vegetables, fruits, etc., ensure adequate sleep, and enhance physical fitness. Learn to regulate your emotions. Your immunity will be enhanced when you are in a good mood.

There is no need to worry or treat excessive vaginal discharge during pregnancy. Excessive vaginal discharge should only be treated when it is caused by abnormal diseases and physiological factors. There is no need to treat excessive vaginal discharge as an objective disease.
