Can pregnant women hold babies?

Can pregnant women hold babies?

During pregnancy, a pregnant woman's belly will gradually grow larger, and it will be very inconvenient to walk at this time. Therefore, pregnant women should not do heavy work, otherwise it may cause impact on the stomach and cause miscarriage. Many people think that pregnant women cannot hold babies because most children are not obedient and like to kick and move around when being held. It can be dangerous if they accidentally kick the pregnant woman's belly. So pregnant women can't hold babies?

It is relatively out of cautious considerations. Pregnant women who get pregnant after a certain age may be more psychologically delicate. The anticipation and joy for a newborn are not felt as clearly by younger pregnant mothers. As people often say, having a child when you are very young is like playing, and before you know it, the child has grown up. When you get pregnant after you are over 30, there are times when you are no longer able to take care of the child or play with him/her.

1. Things are better now. Generally speaking, anything involving other people’s families can be discussed. Once they know the woman is pregnant, no one will force either party to hold the baby. Let's talk about it and the matter is settled. As described in the question, it is unnecessary to not go just because there is a pregnant woman who cannot hold the baby. Everyone is quite reasonable. Even children are supervised by their own adults and generally will not cause any excessive trouble. You can still take them to various activities that are more suitable for your child's age group. It doesn't mean that you have to live in a secluded compound and never go out of the house just because you are pregnant. Pregnant women still need more exposure to fresh air and proper exercise.

2. Sometimes it really depends on the individual and the situation. In the past, especially among older people, pregnant women were not that delicate. Not only did they stop working to hold the baby, they would only stop working when they were about to give birth. At that time, every family had a large population and little food rations, and they were all strong laborers who would ride bicycles every day while pregnant. It is true that that generation is tough, hardworking and able to endure hardships.

Later, when I had nothing to do to popularize maternal and child health knowledge, I learned that it is not advisable to ride a bicycle or horse during pregnancy. But the people around me who have experienced this said that they were still able to ride bicycles to and from get off work even though they were several months pregnant and were still calm and carefree. All I can do is not do it myself.
