The tenth day of medical abortion, the blood suddenly increased

Medical abortion is a method of terminating pregnancy that many women choose in early pregnancy. The harm of terminating pregnancy through medical abortion is relatively small, but there are also many risks. For example, many people will experience a sudden increase in bleeding on the tenth day after the abortion. This may be caused by incomplete medical abortion, infection after medical abortion, or poor blood coagulation function!

1. Reasons for prolonged bleeding during medical abortion

Incomplete medical abortion: This is the main reason for continued bleeding after medical abortion. Female friends can confirm the diagnosis by returning to the hospital for an ultrasound examination. If a woman has an incomplete abortion due to medical treatment, she needs to undergo a uterine curettage surgery to remedy the situation. Otherwise, continued bleeding may easily lead to anemia.

Infection after medical abortion: If no residue is found in the uterus by B-ultrasound examination, you should consider whether there is an infection. Continuous vaginal bleeding provides conditions for the growth of bacteria. If not properly cared for, it makes it easier for bacteria to enter the female reproductive tract.

Poor blood coagulation function: Some women may get lumps or bruises even with a slight touch. These people generally have poor blood coagulation function and will bleed for a long time during medical abortion or surgical abortion.

2. Performance of clean medical abortion

(1) Bleeding after medical abortion usually lasts 1 to 3 weeks. The general symptom is that the bleeding becomes less and less every day. If the bleeding decreases and then increases, or does not decrease at all or gradually increases, it is abnormal.

(2) After about 2 to 3 days of medical abortion, the embryonic sac in the uterine cavity can be discharged. At this time, there will be heavy vaginal bleeding, and there may be reactions such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and abdominal pain. The decidual tissue in the uterus often takes about 2 weeks to be slowly discharged, and then the bleeding stops. This is the symptom of a complete medical abortion.

3. Harms of medical abortion

1. Prone to gynecological inflammation

After a woman takes anti-pregnancy drugs, the embryonic sac tissue in the uterine cavity can be discharged on the same day. Sometimes the pregnancy tissue is not completely discharged, the uterine membrane is not restored well, and vaginal bleeding lasts for a long time, which can last for 2-3 weeks or even 1-2 months. Long-term chronic blood loss can cause anemia and reduce the body's resistance. At this time, bacteria often travel back through the vagina and cause inflammation of the endometrium.

2. Affect future fertility

If an unmarried woman has repeated pregnancies and miscarriages, the endometrium may be repeatedly damaged. Because the endometrium is damaged, once they need to have a normal pregnancy, they are prone to placenta previa, which can cause heavy prenatal bleeding. Some women also experience habitual miscarriage due to multiple artificial abortions.
