Gynecological Cryosurgery

Gynecological Cryosurgery

Gynecological diseases are relatively common, and there are many methods for treatment, gynecological cryotherapy being one of them. The effect of this treatment method is quite good. The main principle is to achieve the purpose of treatment by causing local tissue necrosis through rapid cooling. This treatment method has many advantages. The patient suffers less pain, has less bleeding, and has a high cure rate. Let’s take a closer look at it below.

Cryotherapy is a treatment method that is completely different from electrocautery. It uses rapid low temperature to freeze tissue locally, causing a series of cellular reactions, such as ice crystal formation, cell membrane damage, microcirculation cessation, etc., and finally leading to cryonecrosis of the tissue, followed by the growth of new tissue. This is also a process of breaking down the old and establishing the new. After years of practice, cryotherapy has been proven to be effective for a variety of gynecological diseases.

For example, it has a good therapeutic effect on uterine erosion, cervical cysts, ectropion and polyps. Cervical carcinoma in situ and precancerous lesions can also be treated, especially for young people who hope to retain their fertility and menstruation, who are particularly suitable for cryotherapy. However, you should still go to the hospital for regular check-ups after treatment, so that the few remaining or recurrent tumors can be discovered in time or early. Cryotherapy can also be used for some benign lesions of the vulva, such as vulvar white lesions, hemangiomas, and genital warts.

Cryosurgery has many advantages. Taking the treatment of cervical erosion as an example, the one-time cure rate of cryosurgery is higher than that of electrocautery. The operation is painless, there is less bleeding after the operation, and cervical adhesion and stenosis rarely occur. However, there is a large amount of vaginal discharge after the operation, and it will last for 1 to 2 weeks, which makes the patient feel a little inconvenient.

Speaking of leucorrhea, every woman, whether in adolescence, middle age or old age, will have leucorrhea discharge. Normal leucorrhea should be milky white or transparent, odorless and non-irritating. During ovulation, before and after menstruation, and pregnancy, the amount of leucorrhea usually increases due to the influence of estrogen in the body. When a woman has excessive leucorrhea, abnormal color, and odor, or is accompanied by local symptoms such as burning and itching, it is no longer normal. Medically, it is called pathological leucorrhea, and traditional Chinese medicine calls it leucorrhea.
